Match Preview
The Saints are riding high after a stunning upset win over the Cats in Round 2. Entering as heavy underdogs at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night, St Kilda cranked up the pressure early, surging to a commanding lead in the second quarter with relentless tackling and slick ball movement.
Though they inevitably ran out of steam in the final term, they managed to hold on for a hard-fought 7-point victory—their first of the season. However, the win came at a cost, with Hunter Clark and Liam Stocker both ruled out of the upcoming clash due to injury and concussion.
Key forward Cooper Sharman will return for his first game of the season, providing a much-needed target inside 50, while highly touted No. 8 draft pick Toby Travaglia is set to make his debut.
Meanwhile, after a stunning Round 1 upset over the Blues, the Tigers were brought back to earth in Round 2, suffering a heavy 72-point defeat at the hands of Port Adelaide. Richmond’s young stars struggled to make an impact as they did against Carlton, but they’ll have another chance to shine against a largely inexperienced Saints midfield.
The Tigers will make two changes for Saturday afternoon’s clash, with star key forward Tom Lynch returning to the side alongside Tyler Sonsie. Making way will be youngsters Sam Banks and Liam Fawcett.
The Saints have held the Tigers to 60 points or fewer in their last three encounters, and their strong defensive setup under Ross Lyon could prove problematic for Richmond once again. Expect a hard-fought contest, but St Kilda's efficiency under the Marvel Stadium roof should give them the edge. Back them to cover the largish spread here.

Jack Macrae 30+ Disposals - Macrae has started the season looking like one of the more dominant midfielders in the competition. He was best on ground in the win over the Cats, racking up 35 touches and 9 clearances. Should accumulate 30+ for the third straight game here.
Rowan Marshall 20+ Disposals - Struggled in Round 1 against the Crows being a little underdone but was back to his dominant best in Round two, accumulating 29 touches and 32 hitouts. Usually racks up touches around the game when the Saints are controlling a game, and I expect them to be in control here.
Cooper Sharman 2+ Goals - Finding Sharman goal prices pretty interesting here considering I think he’ll come into the side and be the No.1 target up forward instantly. Currently sitting behind Higgins, Wood, Owens, Hall, Keeler and Marshall in Saints goalkicker odds.
SGM Odds: $3.75 at BoomBet
