NFL Week 6 Betting Tips
Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers
Monday 4am (AEDT)
No Friday morning game this week for Australian fans as the clash between Kansas City and Buffalo was rescheduled to Tuesday instead. Therefore, we’ll need to wait until Monday to get any NFL action this week, but the fantastic 12 game slate has made up for it! The action kicks off with nine games at 4am, the best of which sees a big divisional matchup between the Browns and Steelers.
Pittsburgh have been perfect so far this season, racking up a 4-0 record through their opening month of play and going 2-1 against the spread. They were great against the Eagles at home in Week 5, recording a nine point win to cover the spread. Their defence has been strong, ranking sixth in points allowed per game in the league at just 21.8.
The Browns are 4-1 but are getting the job done in a different way, via offence. They have averaged 31.2 points per game this season, the fourth most in the league and at 188.4, they average more rushing yards per game than any other team. Tough game to call here as the Steelers start as slight 3 point favourites at home. The Steelers have looked the better team of the two based on form alone, and at home, we think they cover here.
Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Monday 7.25pm (AEDT)
The game of the week sees Tom Brady and the Buccaneers hosting Aaron Rodgers and the 4-0 Green Bay Packers. Rodgers and Brady have long been intertwined as the two best quarterbacks in the league and they’ll add what should be another exciting chapter in their storied rivalry on Monday morning. The Buccs are 3-2 and are coming off a tough loss in Chicago in Week 5.
The Packers have looked like the best team in the league through the opening five weeks of the season. They are 4-0 and 4-0 against the spread, having scored a league best 38.0 points per game on their way to dominant wins over the Vikings, Lions, Saints and Falcons. Three of their wins have come by double digits and three of their four games have hit the over.
We don’t expect there to be a lot of defence played in this game, which should be pretty fast paced and feature both quarterbacks passing the ball lots. Of these two teams games, 6 of 9 have hit the over this season and despite a pretty large line of 54.5, we expect this to do the same.
Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills
Tuesday 8am (AEDT)
The week rounds out with yet another Tuesday double header for us Australian fans, kicking off with the Buffalo Bills hosting the Kansas City Chiefs from 8am. The Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season in Week 5 as they went down to an in-form Las Vegas side at home by eight points. They are now 4-1 on the season and the reigning Super Bowl Champions will be desperate to bounce back in Buffalo on Tuesday.
The Bills also lost for the first time this season in Week 5 as they travelled to Tennessee and went down to the Titans by 26 points. The Bills just couldn’t get anything going on offence, which is odd given they had scored an average of 30.75 points in their four previous games, all wins against the Jets, Dolphins, Rams and Raiders.
The Bills start as 4 point underdogs at home and before Week 5, we would have loved that line. However, they looked pretty dismal against the Titans, scoring just 16 points and while they won’t have the same trouble moving the ball against the Chiefs, there are definitely some issues with that offence. Back the Chiefs to cover here. The Bills are also coming off a short-ish week, having played their game against the Titans on Wednesday.
