NBA Betting Tips: Wednesday, March 6th 2024
Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers
Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, 11:30am AEDT
The Celtics absolutely obliterated the Warriors in their most recent outing (140-88) to make it six straight wins by 14+ points and 11 straight in total. They’re now an impeccable 48-12 on the season and are showing no signs of slowing down. Next up, the Celtics will travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers who have been struggling on either side of the All-Star break. The Cavs have won only four of their past nine games and need to find some better form ASAP to avoid further slippage in the East standings. However, they now face the toughest task in the NBA this year in stopping the Celtics, which on current form they simply don’t look capable of doing. With Donovan Mitchell and Max Strus also on the sidelines, I expect this to be one way traffic.

San Antonio Spurs at Houston Rockets
Toyota Center, 12pm AEDT
The young Spurs have looked a fresher and more competitive outfit since the All-Star break and have been in with a chance of winning five out of six of their games. They’ve managed to come out on top in each of their past two, both of which were against playoff calibre teams in the Thunder and most recently the Pacers. Victor Wembanyama has taken his game to another level over the past six weeks and is currently playing at an All-NBA level, while his supporting cast has also provided better production. The Spurs now visit Houston where the out-of-form Rockets will be waiting to play hosts. The Rockets have been unable to string back-to-back wins together since early January, and that will give the Spurs a chance of extending their win streak to a season-best three. With that in mind, I can see them at least covering the spread in this one.
San Antonio Spurs +7.5

Phoenix Suns at Denver Nuggets
Ball Arena, 2pm AEDT
The Phoenix Suns’ stars were vocal about ramping up their game post All-Star break but unfortunately, it’s gone in the other direction thus far. They’ve won only two of their six games since resumption and are currently riding a two-game losing streak. The Suns now head to Denver to take on the defending champs in a matchup they’ve seldom enjoyed success in recently. The Nuggets are one of the best home court teams in the Association again this season and are also on the midst of a six-game win streak. The Nuggets are almost fully healthy right now and the same can’t be said about the Suns who will be without Devin Booker as well as a number of role players. The Nuggets won by 25 and eight points in their last two home games against the Suns and another easy win is seemingly on the cards again on Wednesday.
Denver Nuggets -8.5
