Boston Celtics at Indiana Pacers
Gainbridge Fieldhouse, 11:30am AEDT
The first of four In-Season Tournament Quarterfinals will see the Boston Celtics travel to take on the Indiana Pacers. These teams met earlier this season and it was the Celtics who won in dominant fashion on their home deck (155-104). Jayson Tatum was the star of the show with 30 points, although the Celtics had a number of contributions across the board. Kristaps Porzingis was one of those who played well, but is set to miss Tuesday’s battle due to injury. On the other hand, Tyrese Haliburton was absent for the Pacers in their big loss in this matchup, but is expected to be available this time around despite missing his team’s most recent win over the heat. Haliburton is putting together an All-NBA calibre season and is crucial to his team’s success. With him likely to be back in the mix as well as home court on their side, I can see the Pacers keeping this one close and cover the spread.

New Orleans Pelicans at Sacramento Kings
Golden 1 Center, 2pm AEDT
Second up on Tuesday’s slate will be a game that pits the New Orleans Pelicans against the Sacramento Kings, with the Kings playing hosts. The Pelicans lead the regular season series 2-0 against the Kings with both wins coming at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The Pelicans have been dominant at home so far this campaign with an 8-4 record, but have struggled to capture that form on the road where they’re 3-6. Likewise, the Kings have found it much easier to secure wins at the Golden 1 Center where they’re 6-2 compared to 5-5 on their travels. Clearly, home court advantage is key in this matchup and that’s why it makes sense that the Kings are the clear favourites to get one back on the Pelicans. The Kings recently toppled the defending champion Nuggets at home, and also won by 15 points the last time they hosted the Pelicans which was back in March. It’s fair to say all recent form suggests the Kings will have the edge in this one.
