NBA Betting Tips: Saturday, December 2nd 2023
Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 11:30am AEDT
Despite the season still being in its infancy relatively speaking, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics will meet for the third time this Saturday. The first two meetings both took place in the first two weeks of November and both were at Wells Fargo Center in Philly. Both teams came away with a narrow win by 10 points or less. The season series now heads to Boston which automatically makes the Celtics the red-hot favourites. They won their most recent game at the TD Garden against the 76ers by a whopping 24 points, although that came back in May. Still, the Celtics have been irresistible on their home deck this season, boasting a flawless 8-0 record. Recent trends and overall form suggest the Celtics will remain undefeated at home with a strong win against the 76ers on Saturday.

San Antonio Spurs at New Orleans Pelicans
Smoothie King Center, 12pm AEDT
The New Orleans Pelicans will get their first look at Victor Wembanyama when they host the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. The Pelicans are coming off an emphatic home win against the 76ers last start which snapped a two-game slide where both losses came against the Jazz on the road. The Pelicans have been a much better team this season when they have the home support behind them. They’ve won five of their last six at the Smoothie King Center, while losing five of their last six on their travels. Speaking of losing, the Spurs have been doing a lot of that recently. Since starting the season in promising fashion with three wins from their first five games, they’ve gone onto lose 13 straight. Perhaps the number 13 can have the reverse effect this time around and prove to be lucky? Although I highly doubt that will be the case. The Pelicans are the very heavy favourites here and I would be surprised if they don’t win this by 15+ points.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns
Footprint Center, 2pm AEDT
Two rivals from last season’s Western Conference Semi’s will come together on Saturday when the Phoenix Suns take on the Denver Nuggets at the Footprint Center. The Nuggets of course won the Playoff series 4-2 against the Suns last season and went onto win the title. The Nuggets will be at almost full strength for a rare occasion when they take this trip and that’s a big plus for them considering their road struggles to date. Meanwhile, the Suns will continue to be without Bradley Beal as the Suns big 3 remain game-less together. Importantly, three of their four most recent matchups went over the current total of 224.5 points, and the other reached 220. The Suns haven’t brought in any defensive pieces that can quell the Nuggets offense, thus I expect the total to go over once more.
