Game: Carlton Vs. North Melbourne (Friday, July 19th at 7.50pm – Etihad Stadium)
Market: AFL Fantasy - Matthew Kreuzer ($2.00) Vs. Todd Golstein ($1.75) at Sportsbet
North Melbourne take on Carlton for Friday Night Football during Round 17 of the 2013 AFL Season. We have already brought you an AFL Fantasy Dream Team tip for this game involving Chris Judd and his individual player score. Now we take a look at one of the head-to-head AFL Fantasy Markets.
It’s the battle of the big men. Matthew Kruezer Vs. Todd Goldstein.
There has been a lot of criticism toward Kruezer lately, with many thinking he isn’t living up to his number one draft pick status. That discussion is neither here nor there for us as all we need to know is if he is going to score more Dream Team points than Todd Goldstein on Friday night and we think the answer to that question is a resounding yes.
Kruezer has been remarkably consistent in his Dream Team scoring over his last six games, scoring 96, 103, 105, 88, 101 and 119. He’s dropped below the tonne only twice and 88 is still a respectable showing. Todd Goldstein on the other hand has finished his last four games with scores of 72, 85, 83 and 86. Goldstein might have an overall season average of 89.47, which is better than Kruezer’s 86.75, but Goldy is averaging just 80 over his last three games, while Kreuzer is averaging 101.3.
During the week Kreuzer has been told he is untouchable at Carlton and basically that Mick Malthouse has full belief in his ability as a player. This will help his confidence. During the week Goldstein came out and said he is getting tired towards the end of games as he has to play full time in the ruck and cant rotate with Drew Petrie too much as the Roos need Drew in the forward line. This will most likely again be the case, which will continue to limit Goldstein’s performance. Kreuzer will be too strong here.
Verdict: Matthew Kreuzer is in far better form than Todd Goldstein and should cover him in the AFL Fantasy Dream Team head-to-head markets this weekend. The fact that Kreuzer is paying $2 compared to Goldstein’s $1.75 is just icing on the cake.
