After an energy-sapping loss to the Giants last week, Adelaide will be keen to make a statement in front of their home fans against the Tigers.
While Richmond will enter this Round 2 AFL clash as the favourites, the Crows are unlikely to be easy beats in 2023!

AFL Round 2 Preview & Betting Tips
Adelaide vs Richmond
Saturday 4:35pm AEDT, March 25th, Adelaide Oval
Neither of these teams got the four points in Round 1, but both showed plenty of promise for the season ahead.
Adelaide looked the goods early against GWS, but searing early season heat in Sydney ultimately got the better of them as they lost by 16 points. For a very winnable game, it was a disappointing outcome, but there were plenty of strong performers. Exciting young forwards Josh Rachele and Izak Rankine were both outstanding – the former kicked three goals from 18 touches while new recruit Rankine slotted two majors from his 18. Elsewhere, new captain Jordan Dawson looked a natural leader as he amassed 23 disposals, and Ben Keays was at his combative best with 21 and a goal. Nevertheless, the Crows are expected to show improvement in this campaign, and that can only be proven by wins on the board.
Richmond will also be searching for their first win, although they have two points to their name thanks to a draw against the Blues last week. The Tigers were on top for much of their season opener but ultimately they failed to capitalise, missing some very gettable shots. Recruit Tim Taranto was just about the best player for Richmond, with Daniel Rioli, Shai Bolton and Tom Lynch also putting in huge shifts in the season opener. The latter will be key to Richmond’s fortunes going forward – if Lynch can stay healthy then there is no reason why the Tigers can’t figure in the Premiership race. A couple of fresh faces will come into the 22 this week – Samson Ryan and Tylar Young will travel to Adelaide in place of the omitted Ben Miller and Rhyan Mansell.
Adelaide will have their hands full, as Richmond are clearly the better outfit here. With a forward line featuring Lynch, Riewoldt, Martin, Bolton and Rioli, the Tigers are electric ahead of the footy, so all they need to do is breakeven in the middle. The Crows actually came out on top the last time these two sides met, but coming off a gruelling encounter with a measly six day break, I can’t see them having the legs to topple the Tigers on Saturday.

Jordan Dawson 20+ Disposals – Dawson was solid last weekend with 23 disposals and this week he faces a Richmond side that conceded bulk possessions to opposition backs last week. The Crows captain had 24 touches the last time these teams met.
Wayne Milera 15+ Disposals – Milera returned from a long injury layoff with a 14-possession game against the Giants last week. The dashing runner played in his preferred half back position, which, as previously mentioned, looks like it could be a role to target against the Tigers this year.
Taylor Walker 2+ Goals – Big ‘Tex’ started his 2023 campaign in indifferent fashion last weekend, booting just one goal. However, he has kicked a total of nine goals in his last two matches against the Tigers, who are lacking some tall timber down back.
