Week 11 of the Darts Premier League looks to be one of the best lineups we’ve seen so far this season with Gary Anderson and Peter Wright set to play twice with a cracking showdown between the number two and the number three in the world to finish the evening. What an Easter treat!
Last week was a rough one from a betting perspective with the results just not going our way. Hopefully we can shake it off and turn things around this week with our Darts Premier League Week 11 Betting Tips!
Premier League Darts Week 11 Betting Tips
Gary Anderson vs Dave Chisnall
Gary Anderson plays two matches this week coming off his worst performance of the season last week in a 7-3 loss to Adrian Lewis. Anderson had more darts at a checkout than Lewis but operated at just 14% for checkouts which is pub league stuff. He’ll be disappointed to drop out of the top four and can’t afford to lose again here to Dave Chisnall. Peter Wright was talking up the chances of Chizzy after his performance in the Premier League last week when the two fought out a draw. Chisnall's numbers were world-class – he had an average of 106.40, with seven maximums and a checkout percentage of 75% - yet he could still only get one point from the match. If Chisnall plays like that again, he’ll be hard to beat but he still needs to prove himself to be clutch in the big moments. I think this could be a decent match if Chizzy can bring his best, so I’m reluctant to tackle the match betting markets but I think there will be a whole bunch of 180s.
TIP: Total 180s over 7.5 - $1.73 at Ladbrokes
Michael van Gerwen vs Peter Wright
What a night this is for Peter Wright as he takes on the top two players in the world on the one night! And it all starts with the World Champion Michael van Gerwen. MVG survived a tough fight with James Wade last week with some phenomenal scoring from both players. MVG averaged 113.62 and looked to be back to his absolute best. This will be a massive challenge for Peter Wright. He’s declared his ambition to become the number one in the world, and at times this year he has elevated his game to that level. Now is the time to prove it on a big stage. Wright escaped with a draw after trailing Dave Chisnall last week. He didn’t play badly but he can’t afford to start slowly against MVG or it will be all over. I don’t know if Wright can get the win, but I think he’ll put in a strong performance, so the over 10.5 legs looks appealing.
TIP: Over 10.5 legs - $1.83 at William Hill (BEST BET)
Adrian Lewis vs Raymond van Barneveld
Another cracking match with Lewis and Barney going at it with plenty at stake. Barney was poor against Phil Taylor last week but bounced back in his second match with a comfortable win over James Wade. It left Barney in third place but he has played an extra match, so he won’t want to drop this to Lewis who is also in contention for the play-offs. Lewis grabbed a valuable two points last week defeating Gary Anderson. Lewis played well, but Ando was definitely off, so I think the score line was a little flattering to Lewis. This will be close, but I think Barney is playing consistently better darts this season and we’re getting a nice price for the win.
TIP: Raymond van Barneveld to win - $2.30 at CrownBet
Phil Taylor vs James Wade
“The Power” was back to some of his best darts last week with a strong win over Barney to jump back into the top four. That’s a position he now won’t want to give up for the rest of the season. Taylor has shown a tendency to lack motivation, but now that we’re getting towards the pointy end of the season, I expect Taylor to build momentum and finish his Premier League career on a high. On the other hand, Wade has been disappointing and with just three wins from his eleven matches, it’s hard to see him making the playoffs from here. He wasn’t too bad against MVG last week with some improved scoring, but he struggled in the second match against Barney. I feel like this is the “let down” match of the night, as I just don’t know if Wade will rise to the challenge. I think Taylor wins the match, but from a betting perspective, I like the 180s markets for these two. Taylor has been better recently with his 180s form, while Wade did have four in his match against MVG last week, but that was the first time in eight matches he had more than two.
TIP: Phil Taylor to win + Most 180s - $2.60 at Sportsbet
Peter Wright vs Gary Anderson
If that wasn’t enough for you, Peter Wright and Gary Anderson return to the oche for their second match of the night in a mouth-watering contest. Wright will have a good idea of where he stands after playing MVG earlier in the night. If he gets points from that contest, he’ll be confident of matching it with Anderson. If he struggles against MVG, then it will be hard to lift himself here. As a fan, I hope this is a close match as it could be sensational. The bookies can’t separate them and neither can I. Perhaps consider a bet after watching the earlier matches, but for now, I’ll just be sitting back and enjoying the show.
