Match Preview
The Dragons had a week off following consecutive losses to start the season. Their 25-24 loss to the Rabbitohs was frustrating to watch; they gave up a 12-point lead to allow their opponents to steal victory. They tried hard with their execution, completing at 81%, running for more metres and missing fewer tackles. When it came down to it though, they couldn’t build pressure or turn positive statistics into points.
The Storm remained undefeated with a character building 6-point win over the Panthers. Struggling more than expected considering the players absent for the visitors, the Storm took their chances as the match wore down. As good as the result is, they will acknowledge that they plenty of improvement is needed moving forward. They complete at just 74% in that match, had a low number of post-contact metres and missed more tackles (29). It is a scary thought to think they can (and will) be better moving forward.
It would take a brave person to tip against the visitors here. The Storm have played well in their opening two matches. The Dragons have been poor recently, but you sense that they are getting closer to a victory. If there were a short turnaround for this match, the Storm would be more vulnerable; last week’s fixture would’ve taken a lot out them.
Unfortunately for the home side, the Storm have a 62% record here; the Dragons have also won only 12 of the 42 matches played between these two teams. Everything suggests that this trend is set to continue. The fact that the Storm are without Hughes and Meaney does little to hurt their cause. Perhaps if there is a game that they drop to start the season, this would be it. For that reason, use the line to your advantage.

Leg 1: Storm 1-12 – using the ‘Suggested Bet’ as a guide, the Dragons are tipped to get close to their opponents and this means that the winning margin will be smaller than most think.
Leg 2: Total Points Under 52.5 – The average margin in the past 5 meetings between these two sides is 52.4 points.
Leg 3: Anderson to score – He has been playing well recently and will get his chance against Suli on the edge. He has scored recently against the Dragons also and adds some terrific value into the value.
