Caulfield hosts racing this Saturday, and it’s going to be a hot March afternoon on track with the mercury predicted to be 36 degrees. The Group 2 Peter Young Stakes is the feature, while Race 1 starts at 12:15pm (AEDT) with gallopers to run on a Good4 surface. The Quaddie starts at 3:40pm (AEDT), and we will give that a shot alongside three best bets on the card!

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, March 15th 2025
Race 2: Avenel Equine Hospital VOBIS Gold Distaff - 12:45pm (AEDT)
(2) Brazen Lady does her best racing on Dry tracks and from barrier 9 I expect her to drift back early unless Damien Lane can slot in one out in about 6th position early. He rode her before her break when she ran 4th at Flemington on January 18 and its a good sign to see Frosty sticking with her. She had a trial against good opposition at Flemington on February 28 so she will be fit enough.
(1) Regal Vow goes well fresh and barrier 2 seems a good get. She has a good record over the track & distance and has won half of her career starts on Dry ground which she again gets.
(7) Paradise City is 2 from 2 over the 1400m and will go forward in this race. Led and won at Hillside last time for Emily Pozman but the stable has given the more experienced Linda Meech the honours this time.
(2) Brazen Lady WIN
$3.20 (2 Units)
Race 3: The Donovan + Co Mystic Journey - 1:20pm (AEDT)
(2) Miss Aria is fitter now and she ran on well for 2nd at this track last start after being midfield in the run. She seems to like Caulfield and her chances are enhanced if they don’t put on the breaks up front. She gets Lane in her corner for the first time so let’s hope he gets a race to race double (10-1). Miss Aris is very consistent and has placed both times when third up.
(5) Samangu has won over this track & distance and has won twice over the 1100m already. Jordan Childs has won 4 from 5 races on her and she did beat some quick horses in a trial on January 10. The Favourite.
(3) Mrs Chrissie faces a challenging race here but she has won 4 from 12 races over the 1100m so she can’t be ruled out. Likes Caulfield.
(2) Miss Aris WIN
$3.30 (2 Units)
Race 6: Peter Young Stakes Group 2 - 3:05pm (AEDT)
(6) Zardozi is the pick in the small field of six because I think he will get good pace in this race which will set him up for a powerful finish. (5) Pride Of Jenni returns so will likely take it up and she normally puts in strong front running sectionals. The worry for Zardozi is that he has only won once from 14 tries on Good ground. His run in the Blamey over 1600m was huge when he finished 3rd in the Spring Carnival and he was scratched from the Melbourne Cup 2 days later. It will be interesting to see what distance he is being trained for this time in.
(5) Pride Of Jenni returns after a spell and retirement thoughts and she has never won first up which is an issue if you are taking the $2.40. Led and won a Cranbourne jumpout on March 3 and I don’t think Maher would have her in the race if she wasn’t ready. Newitt takes the ride.
(2) Future History likes Caulfield and usually goes better with a run under his belt. That run was just fair at Flemington on March 1 when 7th.
(6) Zardozi WIN
$2.20 (3 Units)
