Judgement night is in the books and we sadly say goodbye to Jelle Klaasen and Kim Huybrechts from the Premier League. Hopefully they can come back again next year and be better for the experience. For now, it’s a race to the Playoffs with eight players left and only four to make it through. We still have five matches to preview with both Raymond van Barneveld and James Wade playing twice this evening.
Let’s take a look at what’s in store for us with our Darts Premier League Week 10 Preview!
Premier League Darts Week 10 Betting Tips
James Wade vs Michael van Gerwen
James Wade is already under pressure to lift his game and rise from his seventh place on the leader board but it’s a big ask for him this week up against the world number one in MVG, followed by a later match against Barney. If he can escape tonight with any points then it will be a good effort! Wade has been well below his best and with only one win in his last six matches, he’s quickly sliding out of contention. His scoring has been poor with only four maximums during that same period. Punters have been making a mint taking the unders on a 2.5 180s line for Wade but the bookies are no longer offering any value there. Wade comes up against a rampaging MVG who has been in ominous form lately. You can see he was extremely determined to smash Chizzy last week to make sure he improved his legs won ratio to finish the season on top after Peter Wright benefited from a walkover last week. I expect MVG to again come out firing, but Wade is capable of pushing it if he can start well. It’s hard to find any value in this match so we’ll have to sit it out.
TIP: No Bet
Raymond van Barneveld vs Phil Taylor
These two great rivals reunite once again on the big stage with Barney and The Power both pushing for a Playoff berth. Barney continued his sensational recent form with a demolition job against James Wade last week and his four wins on the trot is the best current winning streak in the league. He really has wound back the clock and it’s somewhat ironic that Barney’s renewed vigour is timed with the wind down of Taylor’s time on tour. Taylor has had a somewhat mixed season by his lofty standards, but he does find a way to rise to the occasion when up against the top tier players. He’ll see this as a real challenge against a red-hot Barney and I get the feeling we could see a classic here that will go right down to the wire.
TIP: Raymond van Barneveld vs Phil Taylor – Draw - $4.50 at Bet365
Dave Chisnall vs Peter Wright
Due to the absence of Kim Huybrechts last week, Peter Wright received a walkover and a huge boost to his legs won ratio. That puts him in prime spot to now reach the Playoffs and hopefully the week off has him fresh and ready to go here. Wright’s game has reached new heights this season, and while he still has moments of inconsistency, he has certainly improved to now be considered among the top tier of players. Chizzy, on the other hand, is not the same player of a few years ago, and he was fortunate to make it through to Phase 2 of this season. He sits in eighth place on the leaderboard and, coming off a 7-1 drubbing by MVG, I can’t see him getting close to Wright here.
TIP: Peter Wright -2.5 legs vs Dave Chisnall - $2.10 at Bet365 (BEST BET)
Adrian Lewis vs Gary Anderson
A rematch from last week sees Adrian Lewis attempting to turn the tables on world number two Gary Anderson. The result last week was a 7-3 win for Anderson in what was one of the best statistical performances of the season. Anderson had five maximums, a 77% checkout percentage and an average of over 107. That’s going to beat anyone in the world. However Lewis did win one of the Players Championship events during the week for his first title of the year. That will no doubt give him some renewed confidence for this rematch. Last week we bet on Lewis making it a close contest, and we fell only half a leg short with Anderson playing a phenomenal match. I think Lewis can improve on that and keep it close this time but the bookies aren’t give us much value in those markets. Instead we’ll make a small play on the 180s market at Ladbrokes which is at 6.5 when the others are at 7.5.
TIP: Adrian Lewis vs Gary Anderson over 6.5 180s - $1.73 at Ladbrokes
James Wade vs Raymond van Barneveld
Another rematch from last week with Wade and Barney going at it again, with both playing their second match of the evening. Last week Wade was really poor with just an 84.97 average, and that’s not going to be good enough against Barney who has been on fire recently. I think Barney looks strong to win this match and have the most 180s. To get some value, we’ll also bundle in the high checkout for the Barney trifecta. The high checkout seems the riskiest leg of this bet, with Wade capable of taking out big numbers, but so can Barney!
TIP: Raymond van Barneveld win, most 180s and High Checkout - $3.25 at Sportsbet
Overall, it's a tough night to find too much value, so I wouldn't be going hard at all. I think you’re better off to take some short prices and bundle them together to make a multi to get something worthwhile out of the evening.
MULTI: MVG win + Barney/Taylor o10.5 legs + Wright win + Barney win (vs Wade) - $4.53 at CrownBet
MULTI: Wade u2.5s 180s (vs MVG) + Wade u2.5 180s (vs Barney) - $2.25 at Sportsbet
