It’s been a great NFL season so far and the action continues on Monday with a fantastic 13 game slate. Check out our betting tips for every game below.
NFL Week 6 Monday Betting Tips
San Francisco 49ers at Cleveland Browns
Monday 4am (AEDT)
Easily the best matchup of the early slate pitts the undefeated 49ers against the 2-2 Browns in Cleveland. The 49ers looked too good for the Cowboys in their Sunday night matchup in Week 5, winning 42-10 to move to 5-0 and 4-0-1 against the spread. They are the No.2 ranked offence in the league, averaging 33.4 points per game and the No.1 ranked defence in the league, allowing just 13.6 points per game.
The Browns have been solid through four games, particularly on defence, where they rank No.3 in the league allowing just 15.0 points per game. They are coming off their bye in Week 5, so should be well rested for the home stoush, after losing 28-3 to the Ravens back in Week 4. The under has hit in three of the four Browns games this season, with one of the competing teams scoring three points or less in each of those games.
The 49ers start as big 9.5 point favourites on the road, but until they put a foot wrong I’m going to keep backing them. They are yet to face any injury issues to their key skill position players, which should hold them in good stead regarding consistent week in, week out performances. They have an average winning margin of 19.8 points through five games, back them to get the job done here.
Betting Stats
- The 49ers are the only team in the league without a loss against the spread this season, maintaining a 4-0-1 record with three straight covers.
- The Browns are 0-4 against the spread when coming off their bye week over the last four seasons.
- Brock Purdy is still undefeated as a starter in his career, going 10-0 straight up and an impressive 8-1-1 against the spread.
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets
Monday 7.25am (AEDT)
A solid afternoon matchup here sees the Eagles traveling to New York to take on the Jets. Along with the 49ers, the Eagles are the only undefeated team remaining in the league, having gone 5-0 straight up and 3-1-1 against the spread to start the season. They were too good in Los Angeles in Week 5, downing the Rams by nine points to cover the spread.
The Eagles rank just middle of the road on defence this season, but are a strong offensive team behind quarterback Jalen Hurts. They rank 5th in total offence, putting up 28.2 points per game through the opening five.
The Jets bounced back from a three game losing streak with an impressive 31-21 win over the Broncos in Week 5. They have a 3-2 record against the spread and I think this 6.5 point line is bang on the money here. Struggling to pick a side either way so opting for the overs insead. The Jets have put up 25.5 points over their last two games as Zach Wilson continues to find his feet. I think this could be a high scoring affair.
Betting Stats
- The Eagles have a dominant record against the Jets over the course of their history, going 12-0 all time and 11-1 against the spread.
- The over is 6-4 in 10 games involving the Eagles or Jets this season.
New York Giants at Buffalo Bills
Monday 11.20am (AEDT)
After a shaky start to the season against the Jets, the Bills have gone on to win three of their last four games and look like a genuine Super Bowl contender once again. They have been one of the highest scoring teams in the competition, putting up 31.8 points per game to rank 3rd in total offence.
On the other side of the ball, the New York Giants rank 31st in offence, scoring just 12.4 points per game, better only than the New England Patriots. The Giants are 1-4 straight up this season and 0-5 against the spread, with the unders hitting in four of their five games so far.
With the total at 41.5 points here, I can’t see the Giants putting up enough points for the over to hit. They have put up just 10.3 points per game over their last three, all losses against the spread and all unders. Back a Bills win at something along the lines of 28-6 here.
Betting Stats
- This is just the third time in 25 years that the Giants have been underdogs by at least 14 points.
- Last season, the Giants were the best team in the league against the spread at 13-4. They have started 2023-24 with a 0-5 record against the spread.
