NFL Week 12 Betting Tips
Houston Texans at Detroit Lions
Friday, 4.30am (AEDT)
The Lions kick off the annual Thanksgiving slate as they always do, early on Friday morning from 4.30am. They will be squaring off against a Texans team that is up and about after a great win against the Patriots at home in Week 11. DeShaun Watson had his most complete game of the season, passing for 344 yards and two touchdowns in the win, which saw the Texans move to 3-7 on the season.
The Lions are 4-6 on the season so far, sitting last in the NFC North division, but they could move up one spot in the division with a win here. They became just the second team of the season to be shut out as they were defeated 20-0 by the Panthers in Charlotte in Week 11 and will be desperate to bounce back here.
Tough game to call either way here between two teams who have struggled this season. Like the look of the over though. Before the Lions were shutout on the weekend, their previous three games all went over with 62, 54 and 57 points respectively. The Texans found their offence in Week 11 and should be able to score the ball here.
Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Monday 8.25am (AEDT)
The game of the week is a monster clash between two quarterback rivals in Tom Bray and Patrick Mahomes. The two did battle a few years ago in an epic AFC Championship game and they will square off again from 8.25 on Monday morning. The Chiefs have looked the team to beat in the NFL so far this season, starting with a 9-1 record, their only loss coming at the hands of the Raiders.
The Buccaneers have looked like the best team in the league at times this year, but at other times they have also looked horrendous. They were smashed by the Saints in Week 9, going down by 35 points but backed it up in Week 10 with a solid win over the Panthers. Another loss to the Rams followed that, and they currently sit 7-4 on the season and 2nd in the NFC South.
The over looks the goods again here in what should be a high scoring game.Three of the last four Chiefs games have went over, as for the Buccs, four of their last five have hit the over, including their last two which resulted in 67 and 51 points respectively.
Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles
Tuesday 12.15pm (AEDT)
The Monday Night Football game sees Eagles hosting the Seahawks in what should be an interesting NFC clash. The Seahawks started the season like a house on fire but have since dropped away, winning just two of their last six games. They did earn a win in Week 10 though, as they defeated the Cardinals by seven points at home.
The Eagles are just 3-6-1 on the season so far but unbelievably, they sit atop the NFC East division. The three trailing teams in the division all have 3-7 records, so ever remaining game involving an NFC East team will be super important in the run home. The Eagles are coming off two straight losses to the Giants and Browns and have an incredibly tough run home with games against Seattle, Green Bay, New Orleans and Arizona over the next four weeks.
The Eagles need something miraculous to open over those four weeks if they want to finish atop the division. Unfortunately, we could easily see them going 0-4 over those games. The Seahawks should win this game and cover the spread, which sits at just five points. They are 6-4 against the spread this season and won their only other game agianst NFC East opposition easily.
