Moonee Valley plays host to another eight-race card under lights this Friday night. We found a couple of nice winners last week and look to continue that form again this week. There’s been plenty of warm weather in Melbourne this week, so we should see some fast times and conditions to suit those on speed.
Moonee Valley Racing Tips – Friday February 10th
Race 1
Going with MONTOYA’S SECRET resuming here. Looks a promising type and has been close to a breakthough racing in tougher races that this. My Aim Is True looks the threat and will also be right in the finish.
TIP: Montoya’s Secret
Race 2
A tough race with five or six genuine hopes. It’s not a race I really want to be betting into, but top pick would be RATA TAT TAT. Should improve second up, having won second up in first prep and has drawn well here. Chavuma is up in grade but last win was strong and will be looking to continue that form.
TIP: Rata Tat Tat
Race 3
This is a great race with plenty of promising types. Have to respect Athena Lass returning from a spell. Has placed in Group company, will be on speed and right in the finish. I’m Too Hot was impressive winning in Mornington and looks a great value price. However top pick is VILLA ROSA who looks a real talent after winning on debut. No doubt this is tougher, but should get a nice sit into the race and finish off strongly.
TIP: Villa Rosa
Race 4
Very impressed with FARSON last start with an all-the-way victory in Saturday company at Caulfield. Well-weighted and will be very hard to get past here. With Cliff Hanger scratched, the challenge will come from Seguna who looks well suited coming off a strong win last start.
TIP: Farson (Best Bet)
Race 5
Another competitive race with El Sicario coming up the favourite resuming from a spell. Does have a good first-up record and will be hard to beat but going with a bit of value with VINNIE VEGA. Was a solid run last week and with a good draw here, should be running on well.
TIP: Vinnie Vega
Race 6
CAPTAIN KITTINGER should put in a bold run from the front here. A consistent type who is rock-hard fit, should give them something to catch and looks a good each-way hope. Top pick is Cry If I Want To who has been close the last few starts and has enough class to be right in the finish.
TIP: Captain Kittinger E/W (Best Value)
Race 7
Strike Force has come up the favourite here on the back of placings last two starts. I think there’s a little more value in the next lines of the market. FIFE is resuming here on the back of some strong trials and showed plenty in first preparation to be a real contender in this company. Also backing JEST FOR THE ROAD who was game in defeat in a strong race at Flemington last start. That looks good form here.
TIP: Fife / Jest For The Road
Race 8
Anatola is the short-priced favourite with three recent placings. Does make his own luck up on speed, but not the greatest winning record. Definitely the one to beat but the price feels unders. Going with the only filly in the race in A MIST OPPORTUNITY. Ran well first up in Sydney and think has plenty of scope for improvement here.
TIP: A Mist Opportunity
