For those of you who don’t know “The Voice” is a popular reality TV contest for singers. There's a panel of superstar judges, who pick a squad of singers they want in their team based purely on their voice (during blind auditions). We, as the viewers, then take control during the live rounds by voting via either calling, texting or purchasing their singles on iTunes.
Personally I don’t believe for one second that the viewers have the power to decide who wins or effect the outcome at all. The winner is going to be the most viable artist in the eyes of Channel 9 producers and Universal music executives.
Integrity of the show aside, we can use this information to our advantage. The Voice Australia is down to just eight singers and the semi-finals will air on Channel Nine on Sunday 3rd July. After last night’s performances I have a strong feeling that contest favourite Andrew Loadsman ($2.25 at Sportsbet) will walk away as the 2016 winner.
Andrew Loadsman knocked it out of the park last night with his rendition of “Gold on the Ceiling” by the Black Keys. Later I went back and watched Loadsman’s blind audition again. It was dubbed as one of the best auditions and all four judges turned around (which is rare). One of the Madden brothers hit his button just two seconds into the performance. Either he has the fastest reflexes ever or they had already heard Andrew Loadsman sing. I am tipping the latter.
If, unlike me, you are not sold on Andrew Loadsman then I would recommend using Sportsbet's special. The best value bet would be second favourite Tash Lockhart or Mitch Gardner who both belong to Team Ronan. Click the Sportsbet banner/links to join.
