NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, January 30th 2024
Utah Jazz at Brooklyn Nets
Barclays Center, 11:30am AEDT
The Jazz look to have discovered some of their better form once again with back-to-back wins last week, defeating both the Wizards and the Hornets on the road. They now continue their road trip with a stopover In Brooklyn to take on the Nets. Meanwhile, the Nets had a narrow win last outing against the Rockets although their form prior to that was nothing short of horrible. They’ve won only two of their past nine games and are tipped to be one of the more active clubs in the trade market ahead of the pending deadline. Interestingly, the bookies have priced Tuesday’s matchup with the Jazz as a 50-50 game which I don’t agree with. Yes, the Nets have homecourt on their side, but that hasn’t been an advantage for them at all of late as they’ve lost four of their last five at the Barclays Center. Instead, I’m keen to side with the form team and take the Jazz to secure their 25th win of the season.

Washington Wizards at San Antonio Spurs
Frost Bank Center, 12pm AEDT
Although the stakes aren’t high, the Wizards at Spurs matchup should be a fun one to tune into on this Tuesday slate. The Spurs of course will have Victor Wembanyama suiting up and that always makes for Box Office television. The 2023 #1 pick has been fantastic in his rookie season and has put up 23+ points in eight straight games, hitting 2+ three-pointers in six of them. His terrific individual performances have also led to some team success, with the Spurs winning their last two and three of their past five games. They’ll take on the Wizards who won their most recent game against the Pistons, although they were on a six-game losing streak prior to that. The Spurs have clearly been the more competitive team in this matchup in recent times and with homecourt also on their side, I can see them getting another solid win here.

Minnesota Timberwolves at OKC Thunder
Paycom Center, 12pm AEDT
One of the key matchups of the day will get underway at the Paycom Center in OKC, with the Thunder hosting the Timberwolves. Both teams have enjoyed a lot of success in the first half of the season, although the Timberwolves have slightly dropped away recently. They lost a shocker last start against the Spurs which was their third loss from their past five games. One of those losses of course came against the Thunder in Minnesota where they went down by eight points. Similarly, the Thunder were really poor last outing against the Pistons, losing to them by 16 points to snap a five-game win streak. However, they now return home where they’ve had a lot of success so far this campaign, and they’ve also won their last two against the Timberwolves. With that in mind, I’m keen to be with the home side again here.
