NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, December 12th 2023
Cleveland Cavaliers at Orlando Magic
Amway Center, 11am AEDT
The Orlando Magic have been one of the surprise packets this season with their 15-7 record currently placing them second in the Eastern Conference standings. They recently made extremely light work of the Pistons in a 123-91 win to snap a mini two-game losing streak. Importantly, they remain on their home deck on Tuesday where they’ve won eight on the spin. Elsewhere, the Cleveland Cavaliers are starting to find some of their better form with wins in five of their last six including two in a row on the road. They also defeated the Magic last week although they had homecourt advantage on their side on that occasion. The Magic now get their chance at revenge and you would be a brave man to bet against them considering their form at the Amway Center this campaign. I’m more than happy to back them in here.

Minnesota Timberwolves at New Orleans Pelicans
Smoothie King Center, 12pm AEDT
The sizzling Minnesota Timberwolves will travel to New Orleans on Tuesday to take on the Pelicans. The Timberwolves have been the most impressive/consistent team in the association this season and enter this slate on a six-game win streak. The Timberwolves have also won four in a row on their travels, showing us that they can also get it done in a hostile environment. In contrast, the Pelicans are coming off a humiliating defeat in the semi-finals of the NBA Cup. They were absolutely destroyed by the Lakers to the tune of 44 points in a loss that I expect will take a while for them to get over. This is a tough spot for the Pelicans and making it even tougher is the fact they now take on the best team in the competition in terms of win/loss record. Although Anthony Edwards is listed as questionable, I’m keen to be on the Timberwolves at the underdog price.

Brooklyn Nets at Sacramento Kings
Golden 1 Center, 2pm AEDT
The 12-9 Brooklyn Nets will head back on the road with their first stop being in Sacramento to take on the 12-8 Kings. The Nets are on a little bit of a roll at the moment with three wins on the trot and six in their last seven, but have been doing the bulk of their damage on their home floor. The Nets have won just one of their last four road games which doesn’t exactly breed confidence ahead of Tuesday’s game. Meanwhile, the Kings have been in solid form with wins in four of their last six games including last time out against the highly-fancied Suns. The Kings have also fared a lot better at home than on the road this season, winning six of their last eight at the Golden 1 Center. Home court is clearly a big factor for both of these teams which is why the Kings will start as the clear favourites in this matchup. I expect the current trend to continue and for the Kings to record a fairly comfortable win.
Sacramento Kings -4.5
