Ladbrokes Park Lakeside is home to midweek racing in Melbourne this week with the track currently rated a Soft5. But after two hot days in a row in Melbourne, there’s a chance that we will be running on a Good track. Punters should take note that track conditions haven’t been getting released to punters until around 10am on race morning, so a quick glance may benefit before placing bets.

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 6th 2023
Race 3: Ladbrokes Blackbook Handicap - 4:50pm (AEDT)
(3) Glentaneous should win this one after a very good 2nd behind Foujita San last start at Caulfield. On that occasion he settled midfield before running on well on the Soft surface. He should be fully fit now after 3 runs in and Damien Lane has run a 2nd on top before.
(4) Sea Speedwell saluted by a nose at this track last start and there is no reason why he can’t go on with it. He has won on both the Good and the Soft.
(5) Perle Bleue has drawn inside which might assist on the tightish track.
(7) Speranzoso was scratched last start in preference for this.
(3) Glentaneous - Win
$2.10 (3 Units)
Race 4: Ladbrokes Odds Surge Handicap - 5:25pm (AEDT)
(5) Plenty of Ammo should win here for the Wilde team and Jordan Childs. She has won 2 on the bounce and it was an easy 4.75L win at Ballarat last time. There is a big chance that the track will be upgraded to Good and she has won both starts on Dry ground. Similar to last race she should settle around 4th from barrier 5 and pick them up with 100m to go.
(6) Super Solar has drawn well in 3 for Reece Goodwin and Michael Dee and may get the best run of the race. A Good track would be better as he has won 4 times on it.
(1) Top Honours is another who has drawn well (4) and would prefer Dry ground. He was unlucky 2 starts back when 6th at Pakenham but backed that up with a win here last start.
(9) Wanda’s Outlaw has drawn inside which is a slight concern because she was slow out last start. Can run on close up with the placings though.
(5) Plenty of Ammo - Win
$1.75 (4 Units)
Race 6: Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Handicap - 6:30pm (AEDT)
(5) Zapouring has got fitness on his side and I expect that he will be running on well again like he did at Geelong 2 starts back (8th). He changed tactics last start and led an ran well at Ballarat (2nd) but after that sharp run I think they will take the sit again and hope that the pace is on.
(2) Spirit Beast is resuming and goes well on Dry ground but it is unknown whether he handles a Soft track. In saying that, it shouldn’t be too soft anyway. He hasn’t raced in 8 months and has on trialed up fairly but is among and in-form stable (Freedman).
(3) Call Him Iggy has drawn wide in 15 which hinders his chances here. He settled handy when winning on debut but this would be a good effort to win from out there with 59.5kg.
(5) Zapouring - Win
$5.50 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Ladbroke It! Handicap - 7:30pm (AEDT)
(10) Material Dreams has won 3 from 4 races but got too far back last time when 10th at Caulfield. This race is easier and the Ryan stable have had a good month. A Soft track may be better for this one but he is capable on the Dry as we saw when he won at Bendigo by a nose after running on well.
(12) Aiming ran very poor at Pakenham but the leading Maher & Eustace stable wouldn’t be running him here today if he wasn’t right. Big odds.
(9) Running on Time can be slow out and hasn’t won in 11 months but he has placed in Listed company before.
(2) Frenchman’s Bay has drawn wide in 14 and will have to come from a long way back.
(10) Material Dreams - Win
$4.80 (1 Unit)
