BBL14 Strikers vs Sixers Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Wednesday 15th January, 7.30pm (AEDT)
Strikers
It’s been an inconsistent season to date for Adelaide, but they are still within striking distance of the top four, currently sitting in 6th place with a 3-5 record. The major positive for them is their positive net run rate, which could play a massive factor if they were to win their last two games of the season against the Sixers and Scorchers.
In one of the highest scoring games of the season, the Strikers were too good for the Heat at home on Saturday night, blasting 5/251 off their 20 overs to eventually win by 56 runs. Skipper Matt Short looks to have found some form at the right time of the year, as he blasted 109 off 54 balls to lead the Strikers to the massive total. They should go in unchanged on Wednesday night.
Predicted XI: Matt Short, Chris Lynn, Alex Carey, Ollie Pope, Alex Ross, Jamie Overton, D’Arcy Short, Brendan Dogget, Liam Haskett, Jordan Buckingham, Lloyd Pope
Sixers
The Sixers bounced back from a two game losing streak with a solid win over the Scorchers in a high scoring game on Saturday night. Batting first, it was international star Steve Smith who showed his class, smashing 121 off just 64 balls to lead the Sixers to a massive total of 3/220 off their 20 overs.
The Scorchers largely had their way with the bat as well, but fell just 14 runs short in the chase, as Sean Abbott was the catalyst with the ball, taking 4/43 off his four overs. The Sixers will likely be unchanged for the clash as well, with the exception of the possible return of Jackson Bird.
Predicted XI: Steve Smith, Josh Philippe, Kurtis Patterson, Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk, Jack Edwards, Hayden Kerr, Joel Davies, Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott, Todd Murphy
Prediction
Love the Sixers here. I think they are rounding into form at the right time of the year and with the addition of Steve Smith, their already dynamic batting line-up gets even stronger. The fact that they have Sean Abbott batting at No.10 is an embarrassment of riches and they are a chance to score 200+ on any given night.
The Sixers have a 13-7 record against the Strikers in BBL history and have won their last two games on the trot against the. Back them to make it three here.

Tough to look past Steve Smith at the Adelaide Oval. He became just the 2nd person to notch up three BBL hundreds on Saturday night, joining Ben McDermott but getting the job done in just 32 games compared to a whopping 96 for McDermott.
Smith has played just three games against the Strikers in the past, and averages 55.6 in those games.
