BBL14 Strikers vs Heat Betting Tips
Adelaide Oval, Saturday 11th January, 8.00pm (AEDT)
Strikers
The Strikers have had a disappointing season to date, going just 2-5 through their seven games so far and currently sitting on the bottom of the BBL table. They will have had almost a full week up when they suit up on Saturday night, with their last clash being a loss to the Hurricanes on Sunday, the 5th of January. Batting first, the Strikers put up a respectable total of 5/186 off their 20 overs, led by solid knocks from Chris Lynn (49 off 27) and Alex Ross (47 off 29).
In reply, the Canes batting dominance continued to roll on as they chased down the total just five wickets down and with eight balls to spare. Cameron Boyce was the pick of the bowlers for the Strikers, taking 2/23 off his four overs. It’s unclear whether Matt Short will be available as he continues to deal with an injured toe, but the Strikers will be buoyed by the return of Alex Carey, who should slot straight in at the top of the order.
Predicted XI: Alex Carey, D’Arcy Short, Chris Lynn, Ollie Pope, Alex Ross, Jamie Overton, James Bazley, Henry Thornton, Brendan Doggett, Cameron Boyce, Lloyd Pope
Heat
The Heat bounced back from a three game losing streak to take down the Sydney Thunder on the road on Monday night. Bowling first, the Heat allowed the Thunder to pile on 8/173 off their 20 overs. Michael Neser was the pick of the bowlers for the Heat, taking 2/25 off his four overs with stingy line and length.
In reply, the Heat chased down the total with relative ease, losing just five wickets and keeping seven balls up their sleeve. Max Bryant was the standout with the bat, smashing 72 off just 35 balls. English all-rounder Paul Walter should come back into the side after missing the last clash, likely at the expense of Jack Wood.
Predicted XI: Nathan McSweeney, Colin Munro, Matt Renshaw, Max Bryant, Tom Alsop, Paul Walter, Michael Neser, Xavier Bartlett, Spencer Johnson, Mitch Swepson, Matt Kuhnemann
Prediction
The Strikers are in some woeful form at the moment, struggling mightily with both bat and ball. It’s hard to like them here, even at home and with Alex Carey back in the line-up. The question marks I had surrounding the Heat earlier in the season have been shored up, with middle order players Matt Renshaw and Max Bryant finding some valuable form. Back them to win their 2nd straight game here and keep their spot in the top four.

Player Prop
Jamie Overton should get a good chance up the order at No.6 here and I have some real doubts over the Strikers top order at the moment. The English all-rounder has a great record at Adelaide Oval, averaging 30.50 from six innings in Adelaide. Like him as an outside smokey to top the Strikers runscorers here.
