Randwick Racing Tips: Wednesday, January 15th 2025

Race 4: Headwater @ Vinery Stud BM64 – 1550m - 4:05pm (AEDT)

(1) Toes In The Water $5.50: 4YO Mare who has been racing well in tougher company. Drops back to BM64 where she finished second over 1400m two runs back. She looks suited out in trip now and has a terrific record on the weather effected tracks. With the 3kg claim she gets in this nicely at the weights. Draws well and looks a nice bet.

(4) Endure $2.80: 3YO Filly who was narrowly beaten on debut, but then won second up over 1400m. Expect her to be improving again, but this is tougher. Watch the market.

(7) Rybakina $3.80:   3YO Filly who was very good last start winning over 1400m. Fitter again for this and gets a nice draw. Handles the wet and once again must be considered.

(1) Toes In The Water

$5.50 (1 Unit)

Race 5: Victor Ludorum First Yearlings BM64 - 1100m - 4:40pm (AEDT)

(9) Sneaky Sofia $17.00/$3.80: 3YO Filly who looks to be the roughie of the field who has a nice chance here. She was well rated first up and she dug deep to hold them off at Port Mac and won by over a length in the end. She has a handy resume and goes well on the wet. She takes on her toughest test yet, but rates well with Anna Roper in the saddle claiming 3kg. Blow out hope.

(10) Altercation $9.50/$2.50: 4YO Mare who has been very consistent this prep and wasn’t all that far away in this grade last start. Gets out an extra 100m now which looks ideal and remains at a nice weight with a 2kg claim engaged. Draws well and will be around the mark.

(11) Manaajem $2.00:  3YO Filly who was eye catching on debut winning by almost 4L at Wyong. Up in class and if she runs anywhere near like she did on debut she will be hard to beat, but still learning and $2 looks a tad short.

(9) Sneaky Sofia E/W

$17/$3.80 (1U/2U)

Race 7: Captivant @ Kia Ora BM72 - 1400m – 5:50pm (AEDT)

(5) Rematch $14.00/$3.60: 5YO Gelding who resumes today after a 6 month break and he was very honest last time out in similar company. He has trialled twice leading into this with the most recent trial being handy over 1200m. He is proven first up and is yet to miss the drum on 5 occasions when the track has been soft. Draws nicely and gets in well at the weights. Value pick.

(8) Dumebi $4.60:  4YO who is hard fit and comes into this off a demolition job in BM64 grade last start. He won by 3L and had to carry 60kg. Slightly up in grade but carries less weight now. Draws well and K-Mac for Maher is dangerous. Goes well.

(11) Direct Fire $6.50/$2.30: 4YO Gelding who has had a little freshen up, but prior to that had been racing well in similar grade. He goes well over this trip and in undefeated on the soft track. One for the exotics and will be in the finish.

(5) Rematch E/W

$14/$3.60 (1 Unit)
