Monday in Week 5 of the NFL boasts a massive 13 game slate kicking off at 12.30am with the London game am and continuing throughout the morning stateside. As always, we have you covered with a brief preview and betting tips for every game below.
NFL Week 5 Monday Betting Tips
New York Giants at Green Bay Packers
The Giants and Packers head to London for the opening game of the Monday morning slate in Week 5 in what should be a more hotly contested contest than pre-season pundits would have suggested. Scoring is generally pretty low when teams head across the pond and these two teams are both in the top 10 in total defence this season, averaging just 17.3 and 17.8 points allowed per game this season. Back the unders here.
Under 41.5 (1.86 at Ladbrokes)
Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills
It’s been a tough start to the season for the Steelers and it will get harder this week as they travel to Buffalo to take on the 3-1 Bills. The Bills start as massive 14-point favourites, which seems like a lot but with their dynamic offence, I expect them to cruise to a 20+ point win at home.
Bills -14 ($1.87 at Ladbrokes)
Los Angeles Chargers at Cleveland Browns
The Chargers offence has looked a little stagnant over the last few weeks as star QB Justin Herbert battles injury. They are 2-2 through four games, as are their opponents, the Cleveland Browns. I think the Browns are great value at home against a semi-struggling LA side here.
Browns +2.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings
The Bears are 2-2 this season but are certainly looking like they won’t be challenging for a playoffs spot in 2023. They have edged out wins over the Texans and Browns but were beaten pretty comprehensively by the Giants and Packers. This trip to Minnesota will no doubt be there toughest test of the season and I think the Vikings should win this one comfortably.
Vikings -7.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Detroit Lions at New England Patriots
Absolutely love the overs in this game. The Lions have been scoring at will this season, but they have also been giving up just as many points. They are No.1 in the league in points per game with 35.0 and No.32 in the league in points allowed per game at 35.3. The Seahawks and Lions put up almost 100 points las week. Back this to be another shootout.
Over 45.5 (1.85 at Ladbrokes)
Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints
Another one where I like the overs here. The Seahawks are another offence driven team that’s willing to get into shootouts as they don’t really have a lot to lose this season. I feel like the Saints are also trending in the right direction as Jameis Winston continues to develop this offence. Back another over here.
Over 46.5 ($1.93 at Ladbrokes)
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets
The Dolphins are coming off a disappointing loss to the Bengals in Week 4 and unfortunately for the Jets, I think they are in the firing line of a big bounce back game from what looks to be a genuine contender this season. Back the Dolphins to cover the 3-point line on the road.
Miami -3 ($1.98 at Ladbrokes)
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccs managed to scrape through the first three weeks of the season with a 2-1 record but their flaws came to the forefront in Week 4 as they were dominated by the Chiefs. I think they have serious problems on both sides of the ball at the moment and they come up against a Falcons team that has looked really feisty through the opening four weeks. 10 points seems too much here.
Falcons +10 ($1.89 at Sportsbet)
Tennessee Titans at Washington Commanders
Derrick Henry is returning to form for the Titans and their offence is starting to look like the one that made a deep playoffs run last season. They have been solid over the last two weeks, picking up wins over the Raiders and Colts. Should be too good or the Commanders here.
Titans -2.5 ($1.96 at Ladbrokes)
Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags recorded dominant wins over the Colts and Chargers in Weeks 2 and 3 but were unable to keep the streak alive as they went down to the Eagles in Week 4. They look like the real deal under sophomore quarterback Trevor Lawrence though, and should have no problem at home against arguably the worst team in the league.
Jaguars -7.0 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
San Francisco 49ers at Carolina Panthers
Love the Panthers plus the 6.5 points here. The 49ers sit atop the NFC West but they have barely looked threatening this season outside of a decent win against the Rams last week. They beat up on a poor Seahawks team in Week 2 and suffered losses to the Broncos and Bears in their other two games this season.
Panthers +6.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams
The Cowboys have looked great since Cooper Rush stepped into the starting role in the absence of the injured Dak Prescott. A trip to LA to take on the reigning Super Bowl champs who are coming off a loss will be an extremely tough prospect though. Back their Cinderella run to come to an end this week.
Rams -5.5 ($1.90 at Ladbrokes)
Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals
Overs, overs, overs here. The Eagles have put up monster points this season and should continue to roll against a Cardinals team that has chosen to live and die by the offensive prowess of QB Kyler Murray through the early parts of the season. Expecting another shootout here.
Over 48.5 ($1.85)
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens
Sunday Night Football sees the Ravens hosting the Bengals in a massive AFC North clash. This one has real playoff vibes in just Week 5 of the season, with both teams looking like real contenders. Finding these two tough to split, but I think the home field advantage is worth a few points here, so taking the Ravens at the money line.
