A-League Round 4 Betting Tips
Melbourne City vs Perth Glory
Wednesday 8th December, 7.45pm (AEDT)
Melbourne City started the season with a dominant win over the Brisbane Roar and it looked as though they had picked up right where they left off last season. However, since then they have recorded a 2-2 draw with Adelaide United and followed that up with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Western United on the weekend. They will be desperate for a bounce back as they face Perth on Wednesday night in the round opener.
The Glory will be riding high after a dominant 3-0 performance over the Melbourne Victory saw them also move to 1-1-1 on the season. They have an incredibly tough start to the season, with a massive road trip making up their first nine games before hopefully being able to return to a restriction-less Perth in January. If they can escape this road trip with three or four wins, they will have done their job.
I like Melbourne City to bounce back at home here. They were too good for Perth the last time they squared off, winning 3-1 away from home back in May of this year. I think they get back on the winners list and win against what will likely be a weary Perth side.

Adelaide United vs Melbourne Victory
Saturday 11th December, 7.45pm (AEDT)
Adelaide United will host Melbourne Victory in the Saturday night clash from Coopers Stadium in Adelaide. United are coming off three straight draws to start the A-LEague season, 1-1 against Perth, 2-2 against Melbourne City and 0-0 against Brisbane on the weekend. They'll be desperate for a positive result this week and get a good chance at home.
Melbourne Victory started the season in great form with back to back wins over WEstern United and Brisbane Roar with a combined goal aggregate of 4-0. They also sandwhiced two FFA Cup wins over Perth and Adelaide City in those couple of weeks, but hit a snag on their perfect season when they went down 3-0 to Perth Glory on the weekend. They'll be keen for a bounce back on the road on Saturday night.
Like the look of the unders here. These two teams have played in some relatively low scoring games in recent history, with their last seven games averaging just 2.14 goals. Their six combined games this season have also resulted in just 2.1 goals per game.
Central Coast Mariners vs Sydney FC
Sunday 12th December, 6.15pm (AEDT)
The Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC will play out the sole game on Sunday to close out Round 4 in the A-League and both teams will be looking to bounce back from slow starts to the season. The Mariners won their first game 2-1 against Newcastle but have since gone on to lose back to back games against Wellington and Phoenix over the last two weeks.
Sydney's start to the season has been even worse. They are 0-2-1 and sit in 2nd last place on the table, hacing drawn with the Newcastle Jets 2-2 on the weekend. In fact, those two goals are the only two they have scored this season, a stark contrast to their fantastic offensive season last year.
As slow as they have been to start the season, it's hard to look past Sydney FC here. Their pedegree alone makes them value at $2.05. I'm happy to give them one more chance on the road, if they fail to win again, we'll reasses next week.
