It was a stellar week for the Sunday League Shark in Round 1 of the A-League season, going 4-1-1 across the six games for a very profitable start to the year. We'll be hunting another winning week as we head into Round 2 of the season starting on Friday night.
With the EPL, A-League, Champions League and the Socceroos World Cup qualifying campaign in full swing, we have plenty of socccer content going up on the site weekly. Be sure to check out our Soccer Tips page for regular updates.
A-League Round 2 Betting Tips
Western United vs Perth Glory
Friday 26th November, 7.45pm (AEDT)
Western United will be in Melbourne this Friday night, attempting to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Melbourne Victory in Round 1. Western United were arguablty the better side in the loss to Melbourne, maintaining 54% possession and firing off 12 shots in the loss, but they just couldn't find the back of the net.
Perth Glory could only manage a 1-1 draw in their opening game over in Perth against Adelaide. All eyes were on star recruit Daniel Sturridge, who started on the bench for Perth but came on in the 85th minute as the Glory hunted a winner. It's unknown whether the Englishman will start this week, but he should continue to improve his game time as he regains match fitness.
Western United start as favourites at home here, which seems about right given that they were the better side against Melbourne. I like the value of the Glory here though. The trip across country won't have that much of an effect on them this early in the season compared to if it happened later and their best player should only continue to have more of an impact on the game.

Adelaide United vs Melbourne City
Saturday 27th November, 7.45pm (AEDT)
Melbourne City kicked off their title defence with a 2-1 win over the Brisbane Roar on Friday night. City dominated the game from start to finish, maintaining 57% possession while firing off a massive 21 shots, so the 2-1 scoreline probably doesn't do their performance justice.
Adelaide travelled to Perth in Round 1 and secured a 1-1 draw, which they would no doubt be happy with, as they now don't have to travel West again until March. They controlled 61% possession in the game and were probably the better side throughout.
Love the value of Adelaide United here. Adelaide has been a tough place to play over the past few years and they start as big underdogs at home on Saturday night. I think they have the talent to record a win against Melbourne City, but take the draw no bet as some insurance.

Melbourne Victory vs Brisbane Roar
Sunday 28th November, 4.05pm (AEDT)
Melbourne Victory kicked off their season with a win and will be looking to put their 2020-21 season well and truly behind them with a 2nd straight over Brisbane Roar on Sunday. The Victory travelled down to Geelong to take on Western United and although they looked a little shaky at times, the 75th minute goal from Miranda Roderick was enough to earn the win.
The Roar have a tough start to the A-League season with back to back games in Melbourne followed by one in Brisbane and straight after that they'll be back in Victoria again. Not really sure what to make of the Roar this season. I had them finishing pretty low in my pre-season standings, so it's hard to see them doing much damage against the Victory on the road here.
There's some good value for the Victory at home. I'm happy to take the $2.40 on offer here.
