Another week, another round of A-League matchups to look forward to! There are six games scheduled for Round 14 of the A-League season this weekend, starting on Friday night and continuing through until Sunday evening. As usual, we have our three best bets of the weekend below.
A-League Round 14 Betting Tips
Melbourne City vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Friday March 26th 7.05pm (AEDT)
Melbourne City has won their last five games on the trot and now sit in second place on the A-League table. Their win on Monday night came over top of the table Central Coast Mariners and with it, they now have a 8-0-4 record. They will square off against the Western Sydney Wanderers in the opening game of Round 14 on Friday night, with the Wanderers also boasting a winning streak, albeit of just three games.
The Wanderers are coming off wins against Perth Glory, Wellington Phoenix and Western United but this will definitely be their toughest test since their last game against Melbourne City, which was coincidentally their last defeat, a 2-0 loss back on the 2nd of March.
Melbourne City are arguably the best team in the league at the moment. They have won five straight and just beat the top team on the ladder. In those five games they have a combined goal aggregate of 15-2 to further display their dominance. Back them to win at home on Friday night.
Brisbane Roar vs Western United
Saturday March 27th 5.05pm (AEDT)
The Roar played a brilliant stretch of football when they won four on the trot over the Melbourne Victory, Newcastle Jets, Adelaide United and Victory again. Since then, however, they are winless through their last seven games, racking up three losses and four draws over that period. The travelled to Newcastle in their last game to take on the Wellington Phoenix and could only muster a 1-1 draw which they’ll be desperate to bounce back from at home at Moreton Daily Stadium.
Western United has lost three of their last four games, most recently a 2-1 loss to Macarthur on the weekend. They start as heavy underdogs on Saturday night, and rightfully so given they are the second worst team in the league away from home with just a 1-0-4 record through five road games.
Brisbane have a great chance to snap their four game winning streak on Saturday night and there is still decent value for them to do so at $2.00.
Adelaide United vs Sydney FC
Sunday March 28th 6.10pm (AEDT)
Our final game for preview is the last game of Round 14 which sees Adelaide and Sydney FC doing battle from 6.10pm on Sunday evening. Adelaide United are one of the hottest teams in the league at the moment. They have won their last five games in a row and will have the advantage of a full week break on Sunday.
Sydney, on the other hand, at the time of writing, still have a game to play on Wednesday night against Perth Glory, so they will only get three full days break before their clash with Adelaide, another game away from home.
Hard to believe that Adelaide are such big underdogs here given their form, their home field advantage and their extended break before this clash. At $3.30 this price is just too good to refuse.
