NBL24 Round 15 Preview & Betting Tips
Perth Wildcats vs SE Melbourne Phoenix
Saturday 8pm AEDT, January 13th, RAC Arena
Full of confidence on the back of their recent form, the Perth Wildcats will be shooting for their fourth straight win on Saturday night. Most recently they upset the Breakers by six points on the road, scoring 100+ points for the fourth straight game.
The Wildcats will finally return to RAC Arena this weekend after playing four straight games on the road, going 3-1 on the trip. They’ll enjoy being back in their gym where they’ve won five in a row by an average margin of 10 points.
In stark contrast, the South East Melbourne Phoenix have been in horrible form in recent weeks and their playoffs chances are slipping away as a result. They’ve lost two in a row and five of their last six games, with all five of those losses being blowouts.
In positive news, the Phoenix will welcome back a pair of imports in Alan Williams and Abdel Nader. Both have been struggling with injury in recent weeks but will be welcome additions to the matchday squad on Saturday night.
Match prediction: These teams have only met once so far in NBL24 and that came way back in Round 1 on October 1st. The Phoenix were the hosts on that occasion and were able to come away with an 11-point win at John Cain Arena (110-99).
A lot has changed for both teams since that meeting, with the Wildcats well and truly hitting their straps and the Phoenix falling dramatically out of form. The Phoenix’s offence has been dismal over their past six games where they haven’t been able to put up more than 85 points. And with their current total points line sitting at 88.5 for this clash, I’m more than happy to be on the unders.
Phoenix Under 88.5 Points
