What a main event we have on this weekend’s Fight Night card when Brazilian excitement machine Johnny Walker faces knockout phenom Jamahal Hill. After a massive Pay Per View last weekend, the UFC returns to its home at the Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada for a card that should be full of stoppages. We take a look at the main event and two on the prelims in this week’s preview.
UFC Fight Night Betting Tips
Johnny Walker vs Jamahal Hill
It was only a couple of years ago when Johnny Walker burst onto the scene and people touted him as the man to beat Jon Jones. Since then, Walker has lost three of his last four and showed a clear weakness on the ground not to mention getting hurt rather easily when he gets in a war of attrition.
Jamahal Hill bounced back from being mauled by Paul Craig by absolutely starching a notoriously tough Jimmy Crute in 48 seconds last time out. However patient Walker is here I don’t trust him to not trade with Hill. Hill has an unorthadox style and some serious pop in his hands so if this is a striking fight there is only one winner. I see this as a short night at the office for Hill, who tags Walker repeatedly before putting him away early.
Chad Anheliger vs Jesse Strader
Chad Anheliger was a Rise FC champion who brought two belts into his Contender Series appearance, which he won against a promising talent. This will be his UFC debut.
His opponent Jesse Strader made his name under the Combate banner where he was always super fun to watch. In his UFC debut back in March last year, he was stopped inside two minutes by Montel Jackson.
Simply put, Strader needs a finish in the first few minutes or he will lose this fight. He lacks the cardio and durability to deal with Anheliger who will try to counter him early before picking him apart in the later rounds. It will be a shaky couple of minutes for Anheliger but I suspect he rides it out and then completely dominates.
Stephanie Egger vs Jessica-Rose Clark
I cannot believe how far Jessica-Rose Clark has come in the last 2 years. She has convincingly won her last two fights and has improved both her striking and grappling drastically. While there is a still long way to go for the Aussie she is starting to truly put it all together.
Her opponent Stephanie Egger is 1-1 in the UFC and I am not getting the party hats out for her beating Shanna Young. I personally just believe Clark is better in all aspects of the fight game and with her improvement of late I believe that her ceiling is yet to be reached. I expect a unanimous victory for the Aussie.
