After an exciting day of racing on Monday, Royal Randwick is backing it up with another 8 Race card this Wednesday, the 15th of February. We give our tips for all 8 races as well as a bumper card at Sandown in this weeks Wednesday tips.
RANDWICK RACING TIPS
R1 - Villa Carlotta (Best Value)
R2 - Invader
R3 - I Thought So (Best Bet)
R4 - Rosa Carolina
R5 - Pomelo
R6 - Zaunkonig
R7 - Sizzling Bullet
R8 - Glenall
Best Bet: Race 3 - I Thought So
Glenall looks the good thing on the program but the $2.20 is long gone and at $1.65 it's not worth putting up as a best bet so I've gone for I Thought So in Race 3 who resumes on the back of two trial wins. On debut he was well backed but didn't show much, however his two recent trials show he's ready to deliver on the promise he has clearly shown the stable. Hugh Bowman a noticeable jockey booking.
Best Value: Race 1 - Villa Carlotta
Alizee is the very short priced favourite but at $1.65 I'm willing to bet against her here based on the fact the track is a Soft 7 and her breeding does nothing to suggest she'll love it. Villa Carlotta had two average trials back in September last year but then was put away before returning to the trials in January where she won in good fashion, beating home Woman who looks a talented daughter of Frankel. Breeding suggests she should love the wet track so at $7 she is worth an each way bet.
SANDOWN RACING TIPS
R1 - Fast Plan
R2 - Remember The Name EW (Best Value)
R3 - Gilago
R4 - Battlecamp (Best Bet)
R5 - Fastnet Latina
R6 - Theanswermyfriend
R7 - Bons Away / Believing EW
R8 - Dusty Jack
Best Bet: Race 4 - Battlecamp
This horse has been an absolute nightmare for punters but he's had plenty of things go wrong for him in his recent starts. If he gets a clean run today he should be awfully hard to beat here.
Best Value: Race 2 - Remember The Name
First starter for Danny O'Brien and Damien Oliver who was cruising during a Flemington jumpout and looked to have plenty in the tank. Scratched from a race a week or two ago and instead races here. Basically, if he is met with support in the market he will go close at double figure odds. As we saw with Second Bullet on the weekend, O'Brien runners that are well backed usually win or go close, so the market could tell us what we need to know before the race.
