The 2015 US Open is set to steal the attention of tennis fans from all around the world. Once again it is Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams who are the hot favourites to left the trophy. Can anyone stop them? Find out what we are thinking in our 2015 US Open Tennis betting preview.

US Open - Men’s Preview
This time last year we were all talking about Novak Djokovic winning the 2014 US Open. Then he bowed out and all of a sudden we thought it was Federer’s time to win his 18th major. But nope, it was an unlikely final between Kei Nishikori and Marin Cilic and it was Cilic who ended up the champion. Cilic is paying $51 to go back-to-back and that price looks just about right as it is very unlikely the Croatian goes all the way.
We would hate to make the same mistake twice, but there is simply no doubting that Novak Djokovic is the one to beat. He has played the final match of the US Open five times in the last year and somewhat surprisingly was only able to close it out on one of those occasions when he won the tournament in 2011. He was runner-up to Rafa on three of those occasions - all times when Rafa was at his dominating best. Luckily for Djokovic, Nadal is struggling at the moment and the bookies know it too setting Rafa as a $26 chance.
So who can beat Djokovic?
The bookies have Federer as the second best chance at $5, but that looks under the odds to me. He has had a very solid 2015 and is probably in the best form we have seen for a few years. Tennis fans would love to see Fed go all the way, but I just don’t think this is the time for one of the all-time greats of Tennis.
The next biggest chance is certainly Andy Murray. The Scot beat Djokovic at the Canadian Masters earlier in the month and looks super keen to finally win his third Grand Slam. Oh, and unfortunately for us patriotic Aussies, Murray will be knocking off Kyrgios in the first round - Stan Wawrinka might have to send Murray a thank you card after recent Kyrgios controversies.
I rate Murray as the biggest threat to overcome Djokovic, but you would have to be very brave to bet against the Serb.

US Open - Women’s Preview
Good luck finding Serena Williams at more than $2 to win a Grand Slam in the near future. Williams is in redhot form and with Maria Sharapova out of sorts and pulling out of the tournament at the last minute, Williams looks as close to a lock as you will find.
Williams made it look easy in Cincinnati in the lead up to the US Open. She really didn’t even look like she was at her best and still managed to get the victory. All signs point to her peaking over the next two weeks. It’s the women’s tennis cliche, but Williams’ biggest opponent is herself.
Without Sharapova, the next two best chances Simona Halep and Victoria Azarenka. They both have tough draws and their respective odds of $9 and $11 show you just how hard the bookies think it is going to be to overcome Serena.
Petra Kvitova is on the next line of betting at $19 and maybe that shows a little bit of value with the two-time Wimbledon champion winning the Connecticut Open in the lead up to US Open. Betting against Serena, however, might be the only more courageous punting decision than betting against Djoka in the men’s.
