Week 1 of the 2024 AFLW Finals was a fantastic spectacle, and we should be in for another great weekend of footy in Week 2, which includes two massive elimination finals. Last weekend was yet another positive one from a betting perspective to finish +1.4 Units, taking us to a tick over +14 Units for the season. AFLW Finals Week 2 Betting Tips
Adelaide vs Fremantle
Saturday 3:35pm AEDT, Norwood Oval
Adelaide put up a great fight last weekend against the undefeated Kangaroos but came up seven points short on enemy soil. It was always going to be a tall order for the Crows considering the impeccable form of their opponents, but they could easily have come out on the other side had they capitalised on their forward territory dominance in the forward half. Ebony Marinoff continued her ridiculous season with another 31 disposals, while Chelsea Randall was arguably best on with 22 touches and two goals.
Fremantle found themselves in an arm-wrestle against the Bombers in their do-or-die clash last weekend, but did enough to prevail by 10 points. The Dockers trailed on home soil heading into the final term but found a couple of crucial majors late to clinch victory. Ruck Mim Strom was absolutely ridiculous with 26 disposals, 55 hitouts and a goal.
The Dockers have been brave this season considering they’re arguably missing three of their top five players due to injury, but I firmly believe this is where it all comes to an end. They failed to kick a goal when they faced the Crows earlier this campaign and I predict the Crows will enjoy more dominance in this matchup on Saturday.

Hawthorn vs Port Adelaide
Saturday 7:30pm AEDT, IKON Park
Much like their male counterparts, the Hawks AFLW team have enjoyed a huge rise up the ladder in season 2024. They’ve played with a daring and sometimes carefree style like the aforementioned, and are bearing plentiful fruit for their labour. In more layman’s terms, the Hawks chicks have been awesome. However, they copped somewhat of a reality check last weekend when they suffered their second loss of the season when defeated by the Lions by six points.
The Power, much like their upcoming opponents, have seen a stark rise up the ladder and also secured their maiden finals berth in the AFLW competition. The Power weren’t resting on their laurels however, and managed to score an upset win over the fancied Tigers last weekend. The Power piled on 11 goals in the win and Ash Saints was utterly dominant with three goals and 16 touches.
The Hawks enjoyed the better home and away season and will rightly start as the clear favourites to topple the Power on Saturday night. However, I expect the Power will be no pushover in this contest as they possess the athleticism and will power to cope with the Hawks frenetic game style. With that said, I fancy the Power to cover the generous line.
