It’s been an exciting fortnight of women’s tennis at Wimbledon and it all wraps up this Saturday night when Barbora Krejcikova and Jasmine Paolini face off in the final. Both women have displayed superb skill and determination to reach this stage, and one of them will become a Wimbledon champion for the very first time. Women’s Wimbledon Final Betting Tips
Barbora Krejcikova vs Jasmine Paolini (Saturday 11pm AEST)
Another year, another new champion to be named in the women’s draw at Wimbledon. We’ve had seven different winners from the last seven instalments, and that will become eight from eight when Barbora Krejcikova and Jasmine Paolini lock horns in the final this Saturday.
Krejcikova will start as the favourite and is currently priced at around the $1.70 mark at most bookmakers, while Paolini is around the $2.15 quote. And if you found either one of these ladies in the outright markets prior to the tournament commencing, you’d be doing very well for yourself!
Krejcikova is the deserving favourite in my opinion and I was expecting her to be priced a little bit shorter here. She’s put together a fantastic fortnight and has overcome some fierce challengers along the way, particularly in her past two matches where she defeated Ostapenko and most recently the tournament favourite and 2022 winner in Rybakina.
Of course, Krejcikova is a Grand Slam winner having won the French Open in 2024, while she’s also a seven-time Grand Slam champ in the doubles, with two of those being at Wimbledon (2018, 2022). In contrast, 28-year-old Paolini has only two career titles in singles and four in doubles. However, she’s quite clearly in career-best form right now and this is her second straight Grand Slam final – she was the runner-up at the French only a month or so ago.
Paolini was quite fortunate to get out of her semi-final clash with Vekic with a win. She lost the first set cheaply and looked in danger throughout the entire contest, although she remained the coolest under pressure and was able to deliver in the big moments to eventually prevail in a match tiebreak.
Regardless, Krejcikova is my pick here and it wouldn’t surprise if she secures the title in straight sets. She has the ability to change her game plan accordingly and has a variety of shots few women in world tennis boast. I expect her experience and skill to shine through in the final.
