Race 3: Yarraman Park BM78 2400m - 3:30pm (AEDT)
(2) Wilshire Boulevard $13/$2.80: Remains at this distance and grade after a nice performance last start at big odds. Had some handy sectionals late to finish third, only 1.5L behind YARRAWONGA. Gets a 5.5kg swing on YARRAWONG this time and gets a nice draw. Expect her to be slotting midfield in behind YARRAWONGA would be ideal and will be stormy home late with the light weight.
(1) Yarrawonga $2.00 Last start winner over this grade/distance and did a nice job to kick in the last 400m to score. Held on for a gritty win. Will need to add lug an extra 2.5kg on his back from that run, but gets a better draw and should be able to save energy in the early part. Expect to see him lead here and take catching.
(2) Wilshire Boulevard E/W
$13/$2.80 (1 Unit)
Race 5: Ghaiyyath First yearlings BM72 1500m – 4:40pm (AEDT)
(9) Colours Of Autumn $10/$2.90: 3YO Filly who was held up at the 400m last start and proved costly. Never likely to pick up the front runners, but did have a nice last 600m speed and that’s with being held up. Rises up to 1500m which should suit and expect to see her flying late.
(1) Waikato Girl $6.50: 3YO Filly who was narrowly beaten last start in this grade. Rises in trip now which doesn’t look to much of an issue, but I think 1400m is where she will perform best. Fitter now for this second up run and worth thought.
(9) Colours Of Autumn E/W
$10/$2.90 (1 Unit)
Race 6: Vinery Yearlings BM72 1100m – 5:15pm (AEDT)
(4) Lovero $4.80: 5YO mare who is second up today after having 40 days off. Won very well first up in similar grade by almost 4L. Led all the way and never looked like losing. Comes into this off a trial and looks the one to beat again here. Gets a nice gate which should allow him to slot in up front or on pace as there appears to be quite a bit of early speed in this race. Goes well.
(14) Unstopabull $11/$3.30: Second up today for this 3YO Gelding and he hasn’t been that far away. With all the early speed in this race it could set it up for this fella to came home late as he draws wide and likes to get back. If the leaders go hard early he should be around for the last crack if the track is allowing for any run on.
