NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, January 16th 2024
Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers
Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, 11am AEDT
The Bulls have been trying to make a solid run lately, perhaps increasing some of their players trade stock in the process ahead of the pending trade deadline. They’ve secured four wins from their past five games, although their only strong win came in overtime against the Rockets. Similarly, the Cavaliers have been firing in recent weeks, securing four wins in a row, all on their home deck. The Cavaliers have also now won nine of their last 12 games including eight of their last 10 home and will be full of confidence ahead of this matchup. At home and riding such a wave, the Cavaliers are deserving favourites here and should be coming away with another comfortable win, covering the rather generous spread in the process.

Miami Heat at Brooklyn Nets
Barclays Center, 11:30am AEDT
The Heat head to the Barclays Center in form having won two in a row and eight of their last 12. They took care of the Hornets and the Magic most recently, with their last win coming by a comfortable 17 points. Elsewhere, the Nets are in horrible form and look like a team that know they will be looking a whole lot different after the trade deadline in a couple of weeks. They’ve lost 12 of their last 15 games and have been blown out in a number of those. Needless to say, the Heat are the form team in this matchup and deserve to be the favourites for mine. And with Jimmy Butler also a possibility to play, I’m keen to make a play on the visitors here.

OKC Thunder at Los Angeles Lakers
Crypto.com Arena, 2:30pm AEDT
The Thunder are no joke and they continue to prove that as they roll on with yet another four-game win streak. They’ve easily accounted for their last two opponents at home in the Magic and the Trail Blazers and now head to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers. Meanwhile, the Lakers will be trying to bounce back from a two-game skid when they host this Tuesday clash. The Lakers have struggled mightily since claiming the inaugural NBA Cup and will be desperate to bounce back on Tuesday. Regardless, the Thunder are by far the form team in this matchup and deserve to be the clear favourites in my opinion. Take them to get the job done at the money line.
