Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, October 28th 2023
Race 1: Midway Bm72 Hcp – 1100m (12:30 AEDT)
(9) Eye Pea Oh worked home impressively 1st up down the outside. 2nd up here from a better barrier she should be able to hold a prominent position in the run and put herself right in the finish.
(2) Chief Conductor maps well here and should race on the speed to give himself every possible chance of winning. Also gets a 3kg claim which will help.
(10) Ningaloo Star is my roughie in this race to run a drum. Drawn poorly and will need some luck but gets a big claim.
No Bet
Race 2: Bm78 Hcp – 1200m (12:05 AEDT)
(5) Sebonack was able to win as favourite 1st up on the Kenso before travelling south to contest a Bm100 at Caulfield. He ran on well from a poor barrier there and looks good enough to win this coming back in grade and back to Sydney.
(4) Pioneer River is the obvious danger having mixed it with tougher horses than he meets in this field.
(9) Dollar Magic went down in a dead heat to Silenstar and rarely runs a bad race. Goes in for 3rd pick.
No Bet
Race 3: Highway Class 3 Hcp – 1200m (12:40 AEDT)
(2) The Dramatist is a sneaky chance here at a price given the way he trialled behind the favourite in the lead up to this race. Has a wide draw but can overcome that and get into the finish.
(11) Florino has an exceptional career record so far and has trialled well for his return. Hard to beat but is short here.
(7) Iron Will has been running well in Highways recently. Trial was nice in the lead up so expect a solid performance.
(2) The Dramatist - E/W
$12/$3.80 (1 Unit)
Race 4: Bm78 Hcp – 1600m (13:15 AEDT)
(8) Sequestered won easily last start in this grade. Maps well from gate 5 to hopefully settle in the 2nd or 3rdpair behind the leaders and time his run late.
(15) Territory Express goes down as the main danger in this one from gate 6. Won as a short favourite in weaker grade last time and should get the back of Sequestered in this.
(9) Cinque Torri led all the way easily last start and could do a similar thing this time from barrier 3. Worth some consideration.
(8) Sequestered - Win
$3 (2 Units)
Race 5: Listed BRIAN CROWLEY STAKES – 1200m (13:50 AEDT)
(9) Fire Lane is perfectly drawn to get run of the race here after racing 3-wide the entire way to win last start in an exceptional display of grit and tenacity. Can repeat here at nice odds.
(6) Keenan will race on the speed from the good draw which will make him one of the more favoured runners just based on the speed map alone.
(2) General Salute is short but needs to be respected bringing the G1 form in to this race. Recent trial was quiet but a pass.

Race 6: Group 3 Craven Plate. – 1800m (14:25 AEDT)
(1) Huetor likes the longer trips and gets one here after running on ok through the line over 1600n first up. Lack of pace on the speed map is a moderate concern but this is an open race.
(2) Numerian will lead from gate 1 and be the horse to beat with a soft lead. Looks very good here.
(3) No Compromise went straight past Numerian last time they met but Numerian didn’t have control of the race as he likes. Different race shape this time.

Race 7: Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes – 2000m (15:00 AEDT)
(3) Ganbare gets all favours on the map here. He should settle outside the leader or 1 out 1 back which gives him first crack in the straight and plenty of room to work into the race.
(2) Tom Kitten may well win with more luck than he’s had recently but he gets back and finds bother too often. He’s too short for mine here but is the most likely winner regardless.
(1) Raf Attack will lead again and won nicely last time so should run well again in a similar field of horses.
(3) Ganbare - E/W
$10/$3.20 (1 Unit)
Race 8: The Invitation – 1400m (15:45 AEDT)
(2) Espiona can explode here after quite a solid performance in the sprint race of the season the Everest. Drawn wide here but will be making her run down the outside late. Was $5 in this race last year, has come on massively since then and this is a weaker edition.
(7) Magic Time is a G1 mare in the making. She’s drawn wider and will go forward so the speedmap is tricky here but she’s highly capable and with any luck can win.
(5) Opal Ridge was unlucky not to win the Kosciuszko last start and will be a great chance from the inside draw here with an optimal run. Will just need luck to get out late.
(2) Espiona - Win
$3.30 (2 Units)
Race 9: Group 2 Callander-Presnell – 1600m (16:30 AEDT)
(2) Chryasor is an exceptional looking horse. He’s yet to translate those looks to performances on the track but his recent trial after a poor performance in the Tapp-Craig was promising.
(11) Arctic Glamour maps perfectly here and has been dominant in her first 2 runs this prep. This is a step up but one she deserves. She might blow these away.
(7) Snowman will have the back of Arctic Glamour most likely and should be able to dictate what she does if Sam Clipperton gets this ride right. Expect Snowman to be in the front few.
(2) Chrysaor - E/W
$19/$4 (1 Unit)
Race 10: Bm78 Hcp – 1400m (17:10 AEDT)
(10) Fall For Cindy is a talented mare who is drawn wider here, up in grade, but may be suited by the pattern if the track gets chopped out later in the day.
(4) Gringotts is the main danger given he’s drawn well and maps nicely. Overall record is exceptional and he worked home very well down the outside last start.
(3) Felix Majestic won well last start and can run well again here. There are a few more promising types but that’s a matter of perspective. Can’t rule out.
(10) Fall For Cindy - $4.45 (2 units) Boombet
