Paul vs Diaz Betting Tips

Jake Paul meets UFC cult hero Nate Diaz this weekend in a 10-round bout at Cruiserweight. In Paul’s  last fight he suffered the first loss of his career by split decision to Tommy Fury. This will be Nate Diaz’s first crossover fight after finishing his UFC career with a submission win over Tony Ferguson. Check out our preview and best bet for the fight below!

Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz

Sunday 10am AEST, August 6th 2023

Jake Paul has earnt himself quite the reputation since entering the boxing scene and was only narrowly beaten by Tommy Fury in February. He even secured a knockdown late on in that fight but Fury’s experience told ever so slightly. At 26-years-old Paul continues to improve and all things considered is a solid boxer.

His opponent Nate Diaz, is definitely Paul’s biggest name he has fought but is nowhere close to the best boxer he has come up against. The UFC veteran has a loyal supporter base that boomed after he scored a submission win against Conor McGregor. After that though the cult hero was battered by the likes of Jorge Masvidal and was found out late in his career as a slugger who toughs it out on grit.

Without disrespecting a great of the fight game, Nate Diaz was never that good. He was an opportunistic fighter as tough as they come who was able to outlast many of his foe and wrap up some sneaky submissions. His best was always off his back on the mat and his striking was used to pressure as opposed to finishing his opponents.

This will be a crossover event that brings boxing and MMA fans together but it is going to be a one-sided demolition job. The YouTuber turned boxer holds all the aces. He is 12 years younger than Diaz with seven boxing bouts under his belt and is coming into his prime. Diaz is far from a crisp boxer and is not a knockout threat. In 35 fights he has only knocked out five opponents and has only won four fights by decision.

‘The Problem Child’ is bigger, stronger, a better boxer, and the question really is can Diaz go all 10 rounds without being stopped - not if he can win this fight.

Jake Paul wins this fight and although he has built his legacy on durability, I believe Diaz gets stopped here. He has only been finished twice as a pro but he has been able to fall back on his grappling when he has been rocked, which he obviously cannot do in a strictly boxing bout.

While I don’t see Paul putting him out so to speak, I believe the referee will step in and stop the beating at some point in the fight, much to the utter displeasure of Diaz.

It is a matter of time until Diaz gets hurt and hurt bad and I fully expect Jake Paul to bounce back to the win column and build his hype further.
