EPL 2024-25: Matchday 32 Preview & Betting Tips
Arsenal vs Brentford
Emirates Stadium, Sunday 13th April 2:30am AEST
Another week, another all London clash is on the cards with Arsenal taking on Brentford on Sunday morning. Arsenal finally got the slip up they needed from Liverpool, but they failed to take advantage after they drew 1-1 with 15th placed Everton. Brentford held on for their lives to secure a 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Matchday 31, with Chelsea having 11 more shots on goal than Brentford. The Bees only had 40% possession in the clash, but did enough to get a point, the result however doesn’t help Brentford who are in 12th place. Brentford have only won one of their last five games in the Premier League, which has put a massive dent in their chances of playing European football next year.
The Gunners are unbeaten in their last five league games, however they only have two wins to show for it, which has essentially given the title to Liverpool. A matchup against a vulnerable Brentford defence has come at a good time for Arsenal, given Brentford are the 15th ranked defence this season. The Bees have conceded 47 goals, and face an almighty challenge against an Arsenal side that has scored the fourth most goals in the league this season (56). Things haven’t been great in the front third for Brentford over the last month, having scored only 4 goals across their last 5 games.
This is an easy kill for the Gunners given Brentford’s recent form, and the record Arsenal has against Brentford. Arsenal have a 5-1-0 record across their last six Premier League matches against Brentford, including a 3-1 victory when these sides last met in January. Arsenal will be full of confidence after their win over Real Madrid during the week, and will continue their dominant record against Brentford with a comfortable victory.

Liverpool vs West Ham
Anfield, Sunday 13th April 11:00pm AEST
Liverpool lost their second game this season in a shock 3-2 defeat against Fulham last week, however with Arsenal failing to beat Everton it hasn’t impacted the Reds. Arne Slot’s side are eleven points clear of second place, with just seven games remaining and need just eleven points to secure the title. West Ham’s terrible season hasn’t shown any signs of improvement, having only won two of their last ten games in the Premier League. The Hammers missed an opportunity to pick up their 10th win of the season, after conceding in the 79th minute last week against in a 2-2 draw at home with Bournemouth.
Liverpool’s defence will be looking to bounce back after conceding 3 goals for only the third time this season. The Reds are the second-best defensive side in the league, having conceded only 30 goals this season which is going to be a massive factor in this game given West Ham are in the bottom five for goals scored this season (35). Liverpool have also given West Ham’s defence plenty of issues, having scored 12 goals in their last four games against the Hammers.
West Ham have had a horror run against Liverpool across the last eight years, winning just one of their last sixteen Premier League fixtures against the Reds. The Hammers have a 1-2-13 across that time period against Liverpool, including a 5-0 defeat when the two sides last met in December. This looms as a massive mismatch given the consistency of Liverpool in all phases in the game, how poor West Ham have been and the way the Reds matchup against the Hammers.

Newcastle vs Manchester United
St James’ Park, Monday 14th April 1:30am AEST
Newcastle’s hopes of returning to the Champions League have taken a massive boost with the top five places in the Premier League set to qualify for the Champions League. The Magpies are in excellent form having won three consecutive games to jump into fifth place, and are on equal points with fourth placed Chelsea. Newcastle have a massive opportunity to continue their push for the top four when they take on Manchester United on Monday morning.
The Red Devils had a poor week last week, with a 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest mid-week, backed up by a 0-0 draw in the Manchester Derby on the weekend. United were lifeless in the Derby and allowed the game to drift away without showing much intent to win the game. It’s no surprise given the lack of quality Manchester United have displayed in the front third this season, scoring just 37 goals, ranked 15th in the league. Newcastle have had no such struggles in front of goal, ranked sixth in the league with 52 goals.
Manchester United have looked like a side that has nothing to play for, for quite some time and things could get ugly over the final stretch of what has been the worst Premier League season in the history of the club. Newcastle have won three out of the last four Premier League meetings between the two clubs, holding the Red Devils goalless in those three victories. Newcastle are red hot at the moment, and Manchester United are well off the pace at the moment, this will be an easy game for Eddie Howe’s side.
