After a brief period in limbo while organisers decided how to approach the rest of the season, the Call of Duty League returns this weekend as the home series continues. Although all tournaments will be held online throughout the rest of the season, this event will be officially hosted by the Dallas Empire, and promises to be an exciting one after over a month with no competitive Call of Duty.
We take a look at some of the first round matchups below.
Call of Duty League Week 5 (Dallas) Betting Tips
We found a massive winner in the last event as the Dallas Empire picked up the event win at odds of $5.00! We’ll look to continue our hot streak as the season resumes this weekend with an eight team event.
Two teams are now tied at the top of the season table, with the Atlanta FaZe and Chicago Huntsmen locked at 90 points each after three tournaments. The Dallas Empire sit just 10 points behind, with those three teams each having one event win through the opening rounds.
Minnesota Rokkr have been easily the best team in the league who are yet to record a win so far, and made it all the way to final of the last event, where they were defeated by the Empire.
The Minnesota Rokkr, Dallas Empire and Chicago Huntsmen will be the hot favourites heading into the Dallas event, and it’s safe to say the eventual winner will come from those three teams.

1st Round Matchups
Seattle Surge vs Paris Legion
Saturday 6am (AEST)
The Seattle Surge has been one of the more underwhelming teams in the Call of Duty League so far this season. Through three events, they have played a total of eight matches and won just two. Regardless of boasting three time world champion and one of the best players of all time in Karma as well as world champs in Apathy and Slacked, Seattle has yet to really find a rhythm.
They’ll be going up against Paris Legion, who look to be arguably the best side outside of the big four in Chicago, Minnesota, Dallas and Atlanta. They have a 5-4 record through nine matches so far and have some real star power in their line-up in the likes of KiSMET and Zed. Great value for the European side here.
Paris Legion to win
$1.78
Florida Mutineers vs Toronto Ultra
Saturday 7.30am (AEST)
The Mutineers are another strong squad outside of the big four, comprised of some cast off from other squads as well as some ex-halo players. They made some waves in the Atlanta event when they defeated the Huntsmen and advanced to the final only to be downed by FaZe 3-0.
They should still, however, have the wood over this Toronto side, who has won just three from eight fixtures this season and sits in third last place in the standings. Not a lot of value for the Mutineers here but a good anchor for a multi, tough to see them losing in a best of three.
Florida Mutineers to win
$1.42
Chicago Huntsmen vs Minnesota Rokkr
Saturday 9am (AEST)
Love the look of the Huntsmen here, especially with the event being moved to online only. On LAN, in front of a big crowd, the pressure can sometimes get to the former Optic members in Scump and Formal, but over the years, online is where they have done their best work.
The Huntsmen have been arguably the best side in the competition so far, taking it up to everyone and have the most star studded list on paper with Scump and Formal flanked by Gunless, Arcitys and Envoy, back them to win as underdogs here.
Chicago Huntsmen to win
$1.95
Dallas Empire vs Los Angeles Guerillas
Saturday 10.30am (AEST)
The final game of the Saturday slate sees the Los Angeles Guerillas facing off against the Dallas Empire, who are favourites for the event. Dallas have struggled a bit on LAN in the lead up to their maiden win in LA in the last event, but online, they have been a very strong side.
Can’t see them losing to LA, who have racked up just 1 win from 6 games so far this season. At just $1.09, however, there is not much meat left on the bone.
