BBL14 Thunder vs Hurricanes Betting Tips
Thunder
The Thunder had a three game winning streak snapped by Brisbane on Monday night as the Heat chased down a total of 173 just five wickets down with seven balls remaining. As we predicted, David Warner was the standout for the bat with the Thunder, scoring 50 off just 36 balls. Veteran Dan Christian, who was brought into the side as a replacement for the injured Daniel Sams, scored 23 off 15 at the tail of the innings.
There should be some big moves to be made in at the Thunder selection table in the lead up to the game, with Aussie Test player Sam Konstas likely to be available. It’s also the last game that internationals Lockie Ferguson and Sherfane Rutherford will be available before flying out for the ILT20.
Predicted XI: David Warner, Sam Konstas, Matthew Gilkes, Ollie Danies, Sam Billings, Sherfane Rutherford, Chris Green, Dan Christian, Tom Andrews, Lockie Ferguson, Wes Agar
Hurricanes
The Cane train have won four straight games to surge into 3rd place on the ladder, most recently downing the Adelaide Strikers after a big run chase. Bowling first, the Strikers packed on 5/186 off their 20 overs despite a solid bowling performance from Riley Meredith (1/26).
In reply the Canes went hard from the very beginning, as Mitchell Owen (37 off 16) and Matthew Wade (27 off 18) got the chase off to a great start. However, it was hard hitting middle order batsman Tim David who sealed the deal for Hobart, smashing 62 off just 28 balls including six sixes to guide his team to a five wicket win in the 19th over.
Predicted XI: Matthew Wade, Mitchell Owen, Shai Hope, Ben McDermott, Tim David, Nikhil Chaudhary, Chris Jordan, Nathan Ellis, Riley Meredith, Billy Stanlake, Waqar Salamkheil
Prediction
Hard to bet against the Cane Train when it’s got the momentum it currently has! Their batting line-up is firing on all cylinders at the moment and you feel as though just any one of their genuine match winners in the top five has to have a night and they will put up a monster score.
The Hurricanes have a great record against the Thunder over the course of the Big Bash League, winning 12 of 20 matchups. They have also won 2/3 games at Sydney Showground Stadium. Back them to win here.
