Where to Attack?
The Saints are renowned for conceding points to defenders with their push back style, so the Cats defenders will no doubt enjoy chipping it around if you can fit them into your budgets. The Cats mids aren’t typically big fantasy points accumulators so you may like to look at the Power mids and forwards. The Power are the big favourites of the day and should be a popular stack option.

VALUE PLAYS
Jaxon Prior ($6,000) / Zach Reid ($6,000) are both at a budget price and look a solid option if you’re looking to save some coin. Both hit value last week with 16 marks between them against the Hawks, so if they share it around in the backline again, then we’re in business. Prior, in particular as a more established player, can bring some solid upside if he can work up the ground as a distributor.
Jack Lukosius ($7,900) is a player with a decent ceiling at a good price in a great match up. Plenty of ticks there, but Lukosius is capable of throwing up literally any score, so hold your breath! The Power were terrible last week, so we have to think they are going to score better against a lowly Richmond team here, so there should be plenty of opportunity for Lukosius to get on the end of a few and land a few goals.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Mitch Knevitt ($9,030) is far too cheap for the improvements he’s making in 2025. Has been given a strong role in the Cats midfield with 19 CBA (56%) last week and hit a solid fantasy score of 103. Had 11 tackles in that which suggests a solid floor for fantasy scoring. Has a great match up against the weak Saints this week, so no real reason while he can’t go well once again.
Sam De Koning ($12,050) seems to have done enough to maintain the #1 ruck spot at the Cats… at least for the moment. He was very good last week against Freo, and even though he only had 18 hitouts, he was able to pick up 25 disposals around the ground for a huge 124 fantasy score. He’s up against Rowan Marshall this week who is working through injury to start the season, and while Marshall is a good fantasy scorer himself, he does often like to keep his distance from his opponent. It could be a good opportunity for both rucks to score well.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Bailey Smith ($13,590) is still a great price, despite scoring a massive 126 last week on debut for the Cats. Smith didn’t show any issues returning from his knee injury as he gathered 32 disposals and should find plenty of the ball this week against the Saints. Could the Saints try and throw a tag his way? Hard to see given Smith’s running power.
Connor Rozee ($15,650) is due for a fantasy fill up against the Tigers this week. The Power were pathetic last week but Rozee was arguably their best with 35 disposals and 112 fantasy points. He has the #1 midfield role and coming up against the young Tigers, a fired up Power skipper should be desperate to run wild. Expecting 130+.
