Let’s savour our second last Super Saturday for the 2024 AFL Premiership Season with Round 23 offering up another full slate of five matches. There are plenty of dead rubbers at this time of the season, which isn’t exciting for football purposes, but the reason we love daily fantasy! We get the day under way with one between Gold Coast and Melbourne at People First Stadium. GWS then host Fremantle at ENGIE Stadium, which might be the most exciting clash of the day with a top four spot on the line. Then we get a Grand Final rematch in the mid-afternoon between Collingwood and Brisbane, but it is only the Lions that have anything to play for at this point in the year. The two hammer games are the Adelaide Showdown between Port Adelaide and the Crows and what could be the fantasy pick of the day with Geelong playing St Kilda.

Where to Attack?
Melbourne have been getting decimated through the midfield over the past 10 games, giving up the second most points in the league to the position. This is while Geelong (the previous top league target) have tightened up as we get closer to finals.
Collingwood stands out as the other team to target on this slate as they have been giving up the most points in the league to key forwards over this same stretch and the most in the league to designated kickers. With nothing to play for this Saturday given they are now out of the finals, stacking up Brisbane looks a solid play.
St Kilda are the other option to target. They are giving up over 10 points a game above league average to attacking half backs and wings who float back, while also giving up over 9 points above league average to general defenders.
Game Script – Brisbane key forwards, Gold Coast inside midfielders, Geelong backs
VALUE PLAYS
Jack Bytel ($6,160) has been taking full advantage of his role with the Magpies in recent weeks posting three scores of 84, 62 and 75. Now that Collingwood are effectively out of finals, it will likely open up more opportunity on the inside which is Bytel’s natural role. You can also look to roster Ned Long ($7,560) for a value play as he been seeing a good share of centre bounces.
Alex Davies ($9,570)… Gold Coast have been looking to give the youngsters more opportunity in recent weeks as their season is effectively now over. This is an elite matchup for the Suns against Melbourne who are getting killed across the ground and leaking fantasy points to several positions. Davies has shown 97 point upside this year and was in attendance of over 70% of centre bounces last week.
MID PRICED PLAYS
Luke Jackson ($11,610) will take the number one ruck role this week and will draw what has been one of the best matchups in the league all year against Kieren Briggs. Jackson is priced well after a lengthy period of down scores where he was splitting ruck duties with Sean Darcy. He has shown 110+ upside this year when given the sole ruck role.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Dayne Zorko ($16,080) will draw one of the best matchups in the league over the last ten games with the Magpies giving up the most points in the league to designated kickers over that period. This should be an absolute rout for the Lions given the Magpies have nothing left to play for and Zorko’s ceiling game of 150+ is firmly in play with him operating off half back and taking the majority of the kick ins.
Matt Rowell ($14,150) has rediscovered his early season form with back-to-back scores of 117 and 120. As noted at the top, Melbourne are giving up the second most points in the league to inside midfielders over the last 10 games and Rowell is primed to take advantage of that. His price is still on the low end of a premium price point for the potential return on offer.
