2022 U.S. Open Betting Tips
The Country Club, Brookline, Massachusetts, Thursday-Sunday
The Field
The big question throughout the last few weeks has been whether or not the USGA will allow the LIV Golf defectors to play in the U.S. Open this weekend. They announced recently that all qualified players will be able to compete in the event regardless of their PGA Tour status, which gives the likes of Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed and Phil Mickelson a chance to compete.
One massive name will miss the event through different reasons, as Tiger Woods has officially pulled out of the event citing continuing back and leg issues. Outside of those few big names, it should be business as usual for the top golfers in the world, including the likes of Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth.
The Course
The Country Club in Brookline Massachusetts was founded in 1882 and is one of the oldest in the United States. The country club comprises three 9 hole courses for a total of 27 holes, and holes from all three courses are used in the composite championship course. The first 14 holes are ever evolving in the championship composite, but one thing that has remained a constant throughout the are holes 15-18, which is as tough a stretch of golf holes as any in the U.S. Open rotation.
Key statistics that we will be targeting this week include driving distance and driving accuracy. Regardless of the course for the U.S. Open, you know that if you aren't above average in length and above average in accuracy, you probably aren't going to be competing.
Other statistics we'll be targeting include approch from 175+, there are some long holes on the championship course in Brookline, this will be key, as will scrambling.
Power Rankings
1. Rory McIlroy ($12 at Dabble) (0.5 Units)
How can you look past Rory at the moment. The No.3 ranked player in the world picked up his 2nd win of the year last week by defending his Canadian Open title, winning by two shots. His gae sets up perfectly for a traditional U.S. Open set up. He is without doubt the best driver of the golf ball in the world at the moment when you take into account distance and accuracy. He ranks 1st on tour in shots gained total and 3rd in shots gained off the tee.
2. Justin Thomas ($13 at Dabble) 0.3 Units ---- Top 10 ($2.10 at Dabble) 1 Unit
JT has to be No.2 on the power rankings in the lead up to the event. The No.5 ranked golfer in the world backed up a win at the PGA Championship last month with a solid performance at the Canadian Open last week, finishing third behing Rory and Tony Finau. Ha has competed in 15 PGA events this season and has racked up nine top 10 finishes already.
3. Will Zalatoris ($26 at Dabble) 0.3 Units ---- Top 20 ($2.20 at Dabble) 1 Unit
Despite his lack of a win, Zalatoris might have one of the best starts to a major career in golf history. He has played eight majors in his young career and has already racked up a total of five top 10 finishes including a T6 and a 2nd at the two majors this year. His game arguably sets up the best for the U.S. Open setup, as he is incredibly strong with the driver, currently ranking 6th on tour in shots gained off the tee.

Cameron Young ($51 at Dabble) 0.2 Units ---- Top 20 ($3.00 at Dabble) 1 Unit
