Chiefs vs Jaguares (Friday, May 4 5:35pm AEST)
The Jaguares are starting to look good after a 3rd straight win last week. So they'll look to continue their good form on the road against the Chiefs. During their last 5 games, they have a 4-1 record. They have recovered from a 1-5 start to suddenly be in with a chance of finals. Meanwhile for the home side, they also have a 4-1 record in their last 5 matches. They come off the bye and beat the Reds 36-12 last time out. They concede just 22.75 points in defence and rank 3rd in Super Rugby for points scored. This is the first meeting since 2016 and the result was a Chiefs 30-26 win. So I will continue to back the Jaguares to beat the underdog line.

Rebels vs Crusaders (Friday, May 4 7:45pm AEST)
A big test awaits the Rebels at AAMI Park with the Crusaders in town. The Rebels are aiming to avoid a 4th straight defeat and the Crusaders are on a 5 match winning streak. During the Rebels last 5 games, they have been poor overall with a 1-4 record and 1-2 at home. They are scoring 28.56 points per match,. but haven’t looked defensively. Meanwhile for the Crusaders, they have a 5-0 record in their last 5 matches and they’re 7-2 on the season. They are scoring 29.67 points per match and rank number 1 in Super Rugby for points allowed. Which they showed against the Brumbies last week (21-8 win). They have smashed the Rebels in the last 2 encounters so I can’t see any different this time.

Hurricanes vs Lions (Saturday, May 5 5:35pm AEST)
After a 7th consecutive victory, the Hurricanes will be back at home on Saturday night and looking to continue their dominance. They concede just 18.13 points in defence and that should be the key against the Lions. Meanwhile for the away side, they have a 2-3 record in their last 5 matches. The Lions are scoring points at a huge rate and winning by an average of 15.5 points. However, they started poorly against the Reds last week and can’t afford the same against the Hurricanes or they’ll make them pay. In the head to head, the Hurricanes are 3-0 against them at home and I will be getting on the Hurricanes to win by 1-12.

Waratahs vs Blues (Saturday, May 5 7:45pm AEST)
The Waratahs host the Blues at Brookvale Oval on Saturday and the home team is favoured in the betting. The Waratahs are coming off a bye and will be looking to continue their season against the Blues. During the Waratahs last 5 games, they have a 4-1 record and 2-1 at home. Last week, the Blues suffered a close loss against the Jaguares by a margin of 7 points. They have just a 1-4 record in their last 5 matches. So the Blues are not having a great season it’s fair to say. They are scoring just 25 points per match and have a 2-7 record this season. They also concede 32 points per match. Interestingly though, they have beaten the Waratahs in the last 2 meetings, including a 40-33 win in Australia. So hopefully they can find some points in a close finish.

Stormers vs Bulls (Saturday, May 5 11:05pm AEST)
The Super Rugby action continues with the 4-6 Stormers up against the 4-5 Bulls at DHL Newlands in this clash. In the Stormers last game, they were impressive against the Rebels in a 34-18 win. While, the Bulls only just lost against the Highlanders by a score of 29-28 at Loftus Versfeld. During the Stormers last 5 games, they have a 2-3 record and 2-0 at home. They obviously enjoy playing at home as they hold a 4-0 record, in contrast they’re 0-6 on the road. They’re also 6-0 against the Bulls at home. So I’m predicting another close encounter with the Stormers getting up by 1-12.

Sharks vs Highlanders (Sunday, May 6 1:15am AEST)
The round ends in South Africa with the Sharks hosting the Highlanders. The Highlanders are starting to heat up after a 3rd straight win last week. So they'll look to continue their good form on the road against the Sharks. The Highlanders have a decent 6-2 win-loss record in 2018 and will be pushing for a finals spot. They are winning the close ones as they average a 13 point win margin and they’re scoring 29.88 points ppg. Meanwhile for the home side, they have a 2-3 record in their last 5 matches. So this will be a test against the more favoured Highlanders. They are scoring 28.67 points per match so they should be confident of keeping up with the Highlanders attack. The last meeting between the two sides in South Africa was 4 years ago, which the Sharks won 31-27. They also won the last contest 15-14 in New Zealand. So I like the Sharks at the line because this could go either way.
