Round 11 of the 2018 Super Rugby season starts this Friday and we have you covered with our Super Rugby betting tips for every match. It's been a bit of an unpredicatbale year so far in the Super Rugby but we'll look to provide some winners for Round 11 below.
Super Rugby Round 11 Betting Tips
Hurricanes vs Sunwolves (Friday, Apr 27 5:35pm AEST)
Round 11 of the Super Rugby season starts with a massive mismatch as the 6-1 Hurricanes take on the 0-8 Sunwolves. As a result, the Hurricanes are just $1.002 for the victory! So it’s a question of whether they can beat the line of 40.5 points. Looking at the Sunwolves last few matches, they’re improving defensively even though they don’t have enough points in them. Against the Crusaders, they held with them for a while in a 33-11 loss and previously lost 24-10 against the Blues. The Hurricanes have won their last two matches by a point and 12 points. So in the end, I’m hoping the Sunwolves turn up defensively again.
TIP: Sunwolves +40.5 - $1.91 at Ladbrokes
Stormers vs Rebels (Saturday, Apr 28 3:10am AEST)
In this matchup, the Stormers are 3-6 on the season and the inconsistent Rebels are 4-4. Both sides have lost three straight matches so this could be a close matchup. But the Stormers should be confident as they’re undefeated (3-0) at home in 2018. They’re coming off a tough 24-17 loss against the Sharks and beat the Reds 25-19 in their last home match. The Rebels lost 28-10 against the Bulls last week and just look average in defence, while not scoring freely as well. So I’m going to take the Stormers to win this at the line, which is good value at Ladbrokes.
TIP: Stormers -14.5 - $2.00 at Ladbrokes
Reds vs Lions (Saturday, Apr 28 3:05pm AEST)
The 3-5 Reds will host the 6-3 Lions on Saturday afternoon and this looks like another tough matchup for QLD. The Lions are coming off a 29-0 thrashing of the Waratahs, a team that beat the Reds 37-16 a few weeks ago. The Reds have lost four straight matches and they’re looking pretty average. They haven’t scored 20+ points in their last 2 matches and they’ve conceded 36 or more in their last 3 losses. The Lions have a 3-0 record against them and the last meeting was a 44-14 victory for the South African side. They have a 2-1 record in away matches this season and 9-2 since 2017. So I’m looking at the line for the Lions. They’re 16-9 ATS when playing away and after a win since 2011. Meanwhile the Reds are just 14-24 against the line since 2016. They also don’t enjoy home matches in the day-time as they’re 1-4 ATS.
TIP: Lions -12.5 - $1.91 at Ladbrokes
Blues vs Jaguares (Saturday, Apr 28 5:35pm AEST)
This is an interesting matchup because the Jaguares are suddenly a chance at finals. They’ve loved their time in Australia with two straight wins over the Brumbies and Rebels. So they should be confident of upsetting the woeful Blues in New Zealand. The 2-6 Blues are the second worst team in Super Rugby based on their record. They also rank 2nd last for points allowed. They’ve been hit hard by injury in 2018 so I’m liking the chances of the Jaguares covering this line. They’ve won 3 of their last 4 matches and they’re 2-0 ATS. They also played in a fairly close match against the Blues two seasons ago in a 24-16 scoreline. The Blues are just 2-5-1 ATS this season and don’t have a great line record at home in night matches. So I would suggest getting on the Jaguares here.
TIP: Jaguares +8.5 - $1.93 at CrownBet
Brumbies vs Crusaders (Saturday, Apr 28 7:45pm AEST)
The Brumbies are back at home in Round 11 and they’ll face a tough challenge against the 6-2 Crusaders. The New Zealand side has a 7-0 record against them since 2010 and they’ve won the last 2 at this venue by 13+. They easily accounted for the Sunwolves last week and they’re hitting form with 4 straight victories. The key will be continuing their attacking gameplan as they’re scoring just over 30 points per game. In contrast, the Brumbies lack scoring threats as they score just 21.9 points per game. The Crusaders also have a better defence as they rank 2nd in Super Rugby for points against. They have won by 13+ points at 62.5% in 2018 so I’m liking their chances of thrashing the Brumbies once again.
TIP: Crusaders 13+ - $1.73 at Ladbrokes
Bulls vs Highlanders (Sunday, Apr 29 1:15am AEST)
The Super Rugby action concludes in Pretoria as the Bulls host the Highlanders. The home side is coming into this clash with 3 straight wins and the NZ side has won two in a row. So this should be a tight contest. In the last meeting, the Highlanders just won 17-10 at this venue in 2017. But they’re 1-2 on the road this season. Meanwhile, the Bulls are 3-1 at home and will enjoy the underdog tag in the betting. Which they’re 3-4 as an underdog this season. I can see a close matchup and either side could win this. So the Tri Bet is good value in the end.
