NFL Week 10 Betting Tips
Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (Friday 11th November 12:25pm)
Thursday night football has the Baltimore Ravens hosting the Cleveland Browns. Personally, I think the “TNF” slot should be reserved for premium teams and players. Back in 2012 Roger Goodell announced that all teams would get a prime-time game. Therefore, we must watch the Browns this week. Lacklustre game or not let’s look for some positives.
This is an AFC North divisional game and there is a traditional rivalry between the two teams. Currently the Browns are on track to become the worst team in the franchise history. They have lost nine straight games and are not showing any signs of improvement. The Browns defense is abysmal! They are ranked last (or second last) in almost every category. Opponents have no trouble moving the ball on the ground or through the air against this defense (allowing 421 total yards per game).
The Baltimore Ravens looked refreshed after the week 8 BYE. Last week they upset the Pittsburgh Steelers and are now in a very good position to build momentum. Even though this is a very defensively minded team, the Ravens offense will have no trouble putting points on the board.
Prediction: Cleveland 10 Baltimore 30
Tip: Baltimore Ravens at the line (-10.0) - $2.02 at Sportsbet
Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots (Monday 14th November 12:30pm)
This is an exciting matchup. Possibly a Superbowl preview.
The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a controversial (win) game against the Buffalo Bills. It was filled with emotion and I feel it will have a negative affect against the Patriots this week. It was also a Monday night game which means one less rest day. Settle to Boston is also one of the toughest road trips in the NFL. This is just a really-bad spot for the Seahawks. However, I do think they will win their division and make a deep run in the playoffs.
Super Bowl 49 was the last time these guys played, so there is a revenge angle for the Seahawks.
Unfortunately, the Seahawks will face the New England Patriots off a bye-week. Head coach Bill Belicheck has an 11-4 winning record when he has an extra week to prepare. The biggest problem for Seattle will be slowing down a possessed Tom Brady. Since returning from suspension Brady had thrown for 1319 yards and 12 touchdowns in just four games. He has a quarterback rating of 133.9 and is the favourite to take home the MVP ($3.00 at Sportsbet). The circumstances seem to favour the Patriots this week.
Prediction: Seattle 20 New England 35
Tip: New England Patriots at the line (-7.5) - $1.99 at Sportsbet
Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants (Tuesday 15th November 12:30pm)
This should be a fun Monday Night Football game to watch. The New York Giants have reeled off three wins in a row and now find themselves leading the NFC wild card race. On the other side, we have the Cincinnati Bengals. Who are arguably the most underperforming team this season.
Generally, the Cincinnati Bengals play well after a BYE week. However, there are two big concerns that worry me. First is their record against teams with winning records (above .500). The Bengals are 0-8-1 versus .500 + teams. Second is the play of quarterback Andy Dalton in primetime games. Dalton has struggled whenever the spotlight is on him. He has a quarterback rating of 78.1 and a 5-9 winning record.
The New York Giants are playing very well at MetLife Stadium. Especially quarterback Eli Manning who is averaging over 333 yards in home games. His favourite receiver is obviously Odell Beckham Jr. and unlike Andy Dalton, Odell Beckham seems to play better when the spotlight is on him. After his 222 yard’ game against Baltimore is has been relatively quiet. Expect a big game from him.
Prediction: Cincinnati 21 New York 27
Tip: New York Giants at the line (-2.5) - $1.96 at Sportsbet
Tip: Total Points Over 47 - $1.92 at Sportsbet
