Welcome to our preview and horse racing betting tips for the best betting races at Wyong, Sale and Bunbury on Wednesday, April 4th.
We’ve been dealt three provincial tracks for metro racing this week, with extra metro racing having been conducted over the Easter long weekend.
We’ve taken a look at all three cards and selected the races we’re keenest to bet into, and you can find our tips and comments on each of those below.

WYONG RACING TIPS
RACE 1
Only bet of the day at Wyong so hopefully we get in and get out with a bit of profit from the first race. I quite like the look of the Kim Waugh horse (4) City Of Love here. I really don’t think there’s all that much to beat here and although this horse showed nothing in his first two starts, his recent trial win leading into this first up run today suggested he may have come back a better horse this prep. Kim has her stable absolutely flying at present and she holds a 24% strike rate at Wyong this season. We’ve got by far the strongest jockey in the race here with Brenton Avdulla engaged and I’ve locked in the $3.70 available in the expectancy that this horse may start favourite.
TIP: (4) City Of Love
SALE RACING TIPS
RACE 1
There’s a short-priced favourite in the field here who comes off a 6L win at Bairnsdale, but I don’t mind the look of (3) Eagle Ridge at $8/$3.35 here. The horse ran well on debut to grab 2nd over 1200m and backed that up with a win over 1400m before heading for a spell. He returns here over 1200m, which may be a touch short given he won over 1400m in his first prep, but he’s still fairly unexposed and based on his first two career runs, he’ll be competitive in this. He also ran in a recent Flemington jumpout and finished 2nd to Esperance, who ran 2nd on Monday at Sandown. Just think the price is juicy for an each way be (nice place price).
TIP: Eagle Ridge EW
RACE 3
Bit of a throw at the stumps here in a race with no real standouts. (7) Abinger finished 5th in a field of 8 on debut at Stony Creek, beaten 7L, but it was badly held up in the straight. Jumps straight from 1100m to 1400m here and gets Ethan Brown on board to take over from Chelsea McFarlane. Likely to get back so barrier 1 isn’t necessarily ideal, but at $10/$2.80 he’s not a bad bet in the race.
TIP: (7) Abinger EW
RACE 5
With (7) Raspberry Rose here, who was very heavily backed for a race at Sandown on Monday ($6-$3) before being scratched. Looks like the stable elected to save her for this race instead. She bolted in on debut at Pakenham back in October, before finishing last as the odds-on favourite at her second start. She was then spelled and she returns to the track here. Likely to be at the back of the small field, but if she can reproduce what she did on debut, she’ll take care of these.
TIP: (7) Raspberry Rose
RACE 6
(6) Rosewedge bounced back to form with a dominant win at this track and distance last start, after pulling up lame in Adelaide two runs ago. She steps back up to BM64 grade now but she was competitive in this grade earlier in her campaign, and based on how convincing she was last start, she should handle it. Both her wins have come at this track, so with the soft draw I expect her to win at $2.30. Her biggest danger could be Saab Hassan’s (8) Red Gucci at $6. This filly won first up at Donald over 1000m and continued the hot form of the stable. She can be competitive.
TIP: (6) Rosewedge
RACE 7
Two I like here. (3) Rossman looks the one to beat here on the back of a strong maiden win at Sandown, where he was very heavily backed. He’s also nominated for the Bendigo Guineas this Saturday, so if they have him nominated for that he should prove pretty hard to beat if he does indeed take his place here instead. $3 available but if he’s not scratched in the morning he’ll likely start shorter. (7) Toorak Belle is a decent each way bet in the race at $26/$6 (UBET). This mare’s record first and second up from a spell is terrible – she’s had eight starts for no placings. Take those starts out and her record is two wins and two placings from seven starts. She’s third up today and she’s placed once before third up. Importantly, both of her career wins have come over this track and distance, from just three starts. She draws barrier 1 here, will be right on speed from that gate and could run a big race.
TIP: (3) Rossman / (7) Toorak Belle EW
RACE 8
Competitive race. (6) Bianajeuney ran well above market expectations first up, running 3rd at 50/1 over 1600m. That was the first time she’s ever placed first up, indicating she’s returned well, and also proving further that this stable is going particularly well at the moment. She’s second up here and she’s placed twice from four starts when second up previously, so if she has improved from that first up run she could be competitive here at $11/$3.30. (3) Nova Joe was going well before finishing last in the city last start, could bounce back here.
TIP: (6) Bianajeuney EW
BUNBURY RACING TIPS
RACE 3
Today could be the day for (7) Zon Zol, who backed up his nice trial with a solid run first up when 4th behind Frosty Beverage. I think that’s a decent form line for this and he’s drawn significantly better in barrier 3 today. Taking $2.40. There really doesn’t look much to beat here and the main market rival is drawn wide.
TIP: (7) Zon Zol
RACE 8
Not a hugely confident betting race but think (8) Snitz ‘N’ Giggles can return to the winner’s stall here. She drops hugely in grade today after running in city grade races at her past two. Despite being beaten nearly 5L last start, her late sectionals weren’t all that bad. She gets blinkers back on today third up from a spell.
TIP: (8) Snitz ‘N’ Giggles
