We ranked our BBL10 top 5 batsmen to watch earlier in the week, and today we are doing the same for bowlers! Check out our BBL10 top 5 bowlers to watch, courtesy of Mr.Cricket, below.
Note: Australian Test players have been excluded from the list as they will not be available in the BBL until January.
1 Rashid Khan (Strikers)
BBL10 Top Wicket-Taker Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
The No.1 ranked T20 bowler in the world will line up for his fourth season with the Adelaide Striekrs this year and should feature prominently again in the wicket-takers column. He played 15 games last season, taking 19 wickets at a great economy rate of 7.16, the second best figure of any player to bowl at least 300 balls. Afghan players will depart in mid-January, but there should still be enough time for Khan to make an impact.
2 Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Heat)
BBL10 Top Wicket-Taker Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
Played just six games for the Brisbane Heat last season but should be able to get a few more under his belt this year, with the Afghan players available until mid-January. Has all of the tricks in the book and at just 19 years of age, still has plenty of improving to do. Already the No.2 ranked T20 bowler in the world and through six games in the BBL last season, had an economy rate of just 6.17.
3 Tom Curran (Sixers)
BBL10 Top Wicket-Taker Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
Certainly not one of the flashiest bowlers in the BBL, but Tom Curran gets the job done night in, night out and was a big reason why the Sixers were able to lift their 2nd BBL trophy last season. The Englishman import took 22 wickets in just 13 games last season, sitting behind only Daniel Sams on the wicket-takers list. Won’t be available until after Christmas as part of the English international squad, but should have a big impact once he is inserted into the line-up.
4 Adam Zampa (Stars)
BBL10 Top Wicket-Taker Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
Has been the premier limited overs spinner in Australia for the better part of five years now and was impressive in BBL09, racking up 20 wickets in just 12 games in what was a slightly interrupted season due to international duty. Zampa should be available for the majority of the season this year, so expect him to be around the top of the wicket-takers list once again.
5 Daniel Sams (Thunder)
BBL10 Top Wicket-Taker Odds (Coming Soon at Sportsbet)
Took the Big Bash League by storm last season, taking 30 wickets in 17 games at a dominant average of just 15.37. He was also pretty economical, allowing 7.84 runs per over. He took eight more wickets than the next best in the wicket-takers tally and with the Thunder losing South African Chris Morris this year, Sams will likely be shouldering even more of the load.
