There are some key match-ups in Round 2 of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific, which begins on Friday night with a double header before three games on Saturday, featuring several Australian teams.
The final game of the round will see an all-Aussie affair as the ACT Brumbies take on the Western Force in what will be a highlight for local fans.

This has the potential to be a high scoring game, which was the case for Moana last week against the Western Force, where they should have won, but threw the game away and lost it 45-44 in a great game to watch. This is the first time we get to see the Reds in 2025, and they look to have recruited well, helped by the demise of the Melbourne Rebels. But, some of these key players are still not quite 100% post the Spring Tour late last year. On paper, it looks no betting. Queensland should win, but Moana, albeit a small sample size, showed last week that they are a much better team vs last year and could cause problems.

ACT Brumbies vs Western Force

This could be a blowout for mine. The Brumbies had a really good hitout and got away with the win last week when beating Fiji Drua, winning 36-32 in a really good game. They get a host of stars to return, headlined by Wallabies veteran James Slipper. That looks like a game which should bring them right on as they return home and take on the Western Force. How they won against Moana Pasifika...nobody knows, but needing 45 points to win the game tells you all you need to know about their defence. It is quite poor and it badly needs work. If it doesn't improve, the class, quality and brilliance of the Brumbies will be too much and I do suspect that is how the game is going to eventuate.
