Awesome day of racing ahead at Sha Tin headlined by the Group 2 Premier Bowl for the sprinters over 1200m. The champ Lucky Sweynesse is very short there but it’s a competitive field as is the entire meeting.

Sha Tin Racing Tips: Sunday October 22nd
Race 1: Contract Bridge Hcp (C5) – 1400m (16:00 AEDT)
(1) Master Of Luck is a sit and steer job for Harry Bentley here in gate 1. The horse will land near the front or be the leader and should have every possible chance at double figures to place at the very minimum.
(2) Prosecco drops in class here and is the main danger at short odds. With the right run he’s a top chance but his winning record is poor and he seems to be a difficult horse to figure out in his races.
(12) Fortune Master was horrible last time from gate 14 but was wide and back in the field all the way. Can settle handier and get a better run from gate 3 this time so might be worth an e/w play.
(1) Master Of Luck e/w
$11/$3.3 (1 unit)
Race 2: Cycling Hcp (C4) – 1200m (16:30 AEDT)
(7) Telecom Dragon is hard to go past here. Motored home last time to just miss from a wide draw and will be far better suited this time from an inside barrier where he won’t have to drop back to the rear of the field.
(1) Ka Ying Cheer was strong in the concluding stages last time on debut. He’ll cross to lead from the wide draw and if he does so easily enough he may be able to kick in the straight. It’s a risky race shape for him though and he is short.
(2) Island Golden wasn’t the worst running 3rd last start. Can improve with added fitness but finds a few promising types.
(7) Telecom Dragon win
$3.50 (2 units)
Race 6: Rowing Hcp (C4) – 1400m (18:40 AEDT)
(2) Beato is clearly on top here. He was enormous last start getting back to last from barrier 14 and rocketing home between horses when tight for room for 4th. Fitter now 2nd up, should hold a much more prominent position from barrier 5, and should be winning.
(1) Owner’s Praise with Zac Purton riding can do some damage here. Has raced well in his last 2 and should be even fitter now going into his 3rd run of the prep.
(3) Lost Child is racing well but needs to overcome a wide barrier here to win. Might not do that but is still likely to finish in the front few.
(2) Beato e/w
$4.60/$2.00 (2 units)
