Returning to Sha Tin today for the final meeting before the International Races on Wednesday and Sunday next week. We cannot wait for those races but we must get through this card first which admittedly lacks some substance and contains plenty of all-weather races which can throw up some unpredictable results.
Nevertheless, Blake Lalor has looked through the card and found a few Sha Tin betting tips below!
Sha Tin Racing Tips: Sunday December 4th
Race 1
(1) Diamond Soars won nicely last time after threatening to win in the few runs prior. Won a trial since and gets Angus Chung on to claim 4.5kg meaning he meets The Multiplier 2kg better for beating him by half a length last time.
(5) The Multiplier was a close finisher behind Diamond Soars last time and can be in the finish again. As already mentioned, the weight swing favours Diamond Soars but there’s not much between these 2.
(3) Colourful Prince drops in class and has Zac Purton riding. It’s a nice set up for a win but the horse is yet to perform well at all with his best performance being a 3rd placing in 9 starts
(1) Diamond Soars E/W
$4.80/$2.00 (0.5 units)
Race 6
(1) Run Run Cool goes well over this trip and drops in class for this. Angus Chung is aboard this horse too which gets him right down off top weight to just 56.5kg. Expect a strong performance
(3) The Runner is going well and is generally a consistent horse. He’s a big price to have a small saver or e/w play at in this race given he’s drawn so well. He’s not very experienced over the trip but may be a risk worth taking at big odds.
(2) Brilliant Way is hard to gauge in this race having not performed too stylishly in his lead up trials. He oozes quality when at his best and if he was to bring that today he’d be hard to beat. The query is with where he’s going to be at 1st up given his average trials.
(1) Run Run Cool E/W
$8.50/$2.90 (0.5 units)
Race 9
(2) A Pal is flying and brings strong form into this race. He should prove extremely hard to beat from the inside draw. I’m anticipating a soft rails run on the backs of the leaders and Derek Leung to peel off in the straight for a comfortable watch.
(3) Amazing Victory is in super form of late and should run well. The slight query here is he’s drawn so wide in gate 13. If he can somehow overcome that wide draw, he’ll be right in the finish.
(11) Global Harmony holds very strong trial form. He’s yet to completely bring that to the racetrack which would have to be the main query with him. He’s got a light weight though and will be fitter now 2nd up so should be improving off his last run.
(2) A Pal
$2.15 (2 units)
