Morphettville Racing Tips: Saturday, April 26th 2025
Race 3: Sportsbet John Hawkes Stakes – 1100m – 1:42pm (AEST)
(3) Sans Doute $7.50/$2.30: 5YO Mare who has a terrific resume and must not be underestimated for this. She was strong through to the line last start over 1000m after knuckling down from last. (Slick times). She gets out an extra 100m now and looks to map nicely from the rear. She gets a gun booking of Blake Shinn and rates well against the others. I’d expect her to be launching late to pick these up at a price. She is placed twice at Group 3 level and has competed at Group one level previously, so her best is good enough. Goes well.
(6) Watchme Win $3.40: 4YO Gelding who boasts a terrific record and once again looks to be a top hope. Tired late second up, but finished only 1.5L behind ASFOORA. Draws a nicely and Stubby holder remains on top. The one to beat.
(10) La Defense $6.50/$2.20: 5YO gelding who was terrific last campaign and then resumed soundly after a long break. Must be considered for this at an each way price.
(3) Sans Doute E/W
$7.50/$2.30 (1 unit)
Race 5: Sportsbet Tobin Bronze Stakes - 1200m - 2:52pm (AEST)
(1) Imperial Force $3.50: 3YO Colt who has been flying and was brave in defeat last start competing at group 2 level. Remains at 1200m and Group 2 level and looks to be another top hope. Draws pole position and Jamie Melham jumps into the saddle back on her home deck. She rates well and will be dictating for a long way. Happy to be on and he will take catching.
(8) Sabaj $7.00/$2.30: 3YO gelding who has proved he is a talented type with 3 wins and a second from his 4 career runs. Only narrowly beaten in the Guineas last start over 1600m. Has had a nice little break and looks capable over 1200m now.
(12) Kuroyanagi $23/$6.00: Roughie of the race who has a terrific resume and was handy enough when resuming. Will only be improving and is expected to be running on. Blow out hope.
(1) Imperial Force
$3.50 (2 units)
Race 7: Sportsbet Australasian Oaks - 2000m – 4:07pm (AEST)
(1) Too Darn Lizzie $4.80: 3YO Filly who has been terrific in all three runs this prep and is closing in on a win. She has some good form running behind TREASURETHE MOMENT which is strong form leading into this. She draws wide, but with her earlier speed she looks as though she’ll map nicely up on the pace and can either slot in or try and dictate to her liking. She steps up to 2000m for the first time, but that doesn’t appear to be too much of an ask off her mile efforts. She is rock hard fit and the early market has had a positive move boosting confidence. Blake SHINN jumps in for the first time which will give us a good run for our money. Goes well.
(3) Movin Out $5.00: 3YO Filly who returned to her best last start destroying them over 1600m at Mornington. Gets back out to 2000m and will likely be in the finish again.
(9) Polymnia $5.00: 3YO Filly who has been very consistent and two runs back won by 3.5L over 1800m to finally break maiden. Tackled this trip in open grade most recently and was terrific only narrowly being beaten. Must be considered again here.
